Back from Sunday afternoon Seminar at Westbury

Hi everyone,

I went to the seminar this afternoon with my mom and dad. I didn't get read again but there were so many me too's and many signs from my sister.

Today's crowd was a little different from Friday's crowd. The crowd was very outgoing. People were calling out all over the place. There were a lot of question and answers. One woman even asked if he could do what Whoopie Goldberg did in "Ghost", where the spirit entered her body and she became him. I was surprised with the answer. He said that it can happen. He also said that it happened to him only once. He said he hated it and would never let it happen again. He reminded everybody about how hates fish and said that he would rather go inside a tank full of fish than to have a spirit enter him that way again!

The readings were very good. John even had a girl call her mom on her cell phone. He took the phone and talked to her on stage. It was like on the show when he calls people up during the reading! There was a very moving September 11th reading also. There was another reading with a woman named Anna. Was that you Anna1916?

When I get my thoughts together I will post more about the readings.

Another thing: John announced that he will be having his first book signing for his new book "Afterlife" in September at the Huntington Book Review in Huntington Long Island. Can't wait!

Hi Susan:

Thanks for posting. It seems that each seminar has its own personality doesn't it. I don't recall hearing that JE had someone call another person during a seminar. It must have been a very special message he delivered.

Can't wait to hear more - the fish tank reference was funny. I think we all know how much he dislikes fish - wow! He would create his own fear factor over that one....

You really did have a great weekend.

Your right Irishrose. I never remember him ever taking calls at seminars either. After that reading, John went over to a guy and said congratulations. John said that the man was going to be a father. The man said his wife had been thinking she might be pregnant. John said that she was. Someone in the audience yelled out that John should call the wife. John said that it was too personal for him to call. But then John's assistants gave the man a number to call so he could let John know the good news.

Another strange reading involved a gun reference. John was insisting that someone had a gun hidden on them. He as focused on a section where a woman said her brother was a cop. He said no that he really felt that someone was carrying a gun. It was a little scary when John was insisting this. Then someone said that someone in their family gradutation from the Police Academy at Westbury Music Fair (I think it was the Nassau Police Academy graduation). But John said no. I can't recall how the gun reference turned out but I think in the end the reading was for a woman in the section that said her house had been robbed by a friend of the family and he stole a gun from the house. I was thinking that if someone had a gun they would not tell john because they would be afraid they'd get in trouble. I think someone yelled that out to John.

The whole cell phone thing is interesting, since they're supposed to be turned off during seminars. It just goes to show, John will jump through whatever hoops it takes to make a validation. Ok... most hoops... the ones not involving spirit occupancy. :eek:

I just love reading about seminars Each one is so unique....yet always "John-like" with his humor and his right-on validations.
Only two weeks until Charlotte (can't wait to be there! Yeah.)
I agree that me-toos and signs from our loved ones are important and are part of the reason we are drawn to that particular seminar.

It sounds like everyone who went to Westbury had a great time, and I totally afree that every seminar seems to have its own personality. They are always unpredictable in that you never know who and what is going to come through, but one thing is for sure- no matter how different the seminars are, they are all equally enjoyable and healing to all in attendance.

Nauset-- you mentioned how one woman asked a question about Whoopi's character in Ghost. That reminded me of a story John told everyone at the Worcester seminar last month. I carried the entire story around with me in my head for a while but over the weeks it diminished. I remember it had something to do with John receiving a sign from his mother. It was late at night, and John was laying in bed half asleep. Suddenly, a bunch of pennies fell off of the top of a drawer across the room. Something clicked with John and he knew that it was a sign. (I can't remember exactly what it was he had asked for or what told him it was a sign, all I know is that it was..) The funny thing about it was that at the exact same time John had been startled by the pennies that fell off the drawer, on the television in front of him was the scene from Ghost where Patrick Swayze lifts the penny up on the apartment door and hands it to Demi Moore. He said that's what did it for him.... Now, if there was anyone else who has heard this story or was at the seminar the same night as me, feel free to add anything you remember about the story to it, because I know there are some parts I'm missing. ::sigh:: if only I could have taped that seminar.. every story John told was fascinating.. :D

Sounds like the crowd was better today than it was Friday. That whole leaving before it's over thing would have been really annoying!

Last year in San Francisco he had someone call her sister because she couldn't validate an "Aries" to her side...when her sister answered the phone the girl said, "Hello, Airie..." Too funny!!! Poor thing.:D

It wasn't me that was read, but I was two rows over from the other Anna who was read, and there were enough similarities, that I almost jumped in, but thought that she really could validate a lot.

I was totally moved. The question and answer thing really got me - because a lot of the questions brought so much comfort. The one about spirits knowing 3 - 6 months before they are leaving that it's going to happen - that was such a comfort to me, I can't even tell you.

I was surprised, having only seen the show on TV, that he was so funny and entertaining. The only drawback to having my daughter with me was the Austalian Spoof joke - which I have been avoiding explaining since yesterday to Brighid!

There seemed to me so many signs that my sister was with us. The thing that most struck me was the lights blinking. Even my other sister leaned over and said, "You know she's here" because since her passing, the lights in my house, my mother's house, and my father's house have gone insane.

I loved how "real" he was - you really felt like he was in your kitchen, chatting with family. And my soon to be brother in law went with us - a total disbeliever along for the knishes - and he walked out saying there really is something to this.

It was a beautiful show - I would do this again in a heartbeat, even if I knew going in I would not hear from anyone. Something touches you anyway.

I had the same thought about the lights. Before Friday's seminar, I told my mom that every seminar I been to had lights dimming. At the seminar last year at westbury the lights were dimming it seemed every time right before he said "They're pulling back". I thought it was my imagination but now I'm not so sure. Friday evening the lights were dimming and yesterday they were really going crazy. I was glad he mentioned it, because that was a question I wanted to ask him. I get a lot of signs with lights also. I think he said that the production people said there was no problem with the lights. So it must have been the energy from the souls.

OtherSideTemp: I remember hearing that about the pennies. I would love to spend an afternoon with John to listening to all the awesome experiences and signs he must receive.

The following is some of what I remember about the seminar yesterday: I took some notes but can't understand my own handwriting so I will just post what I remember from it as accurately as I can.

1st reading -

John asked who had the heart attack and said there is a connection to Las Vegas or Atlantic City. A man answered that they had just got back from (I think he said Atlantic City not sure). Then John asked about a very small blade like a pocket knife type. The man said his dad was a Barber. John looked at him with this puzzled look and said "He cut hair with a blade?" The man said no he used a small bladed razor to shave them. John still had this puzzled look like he didn't know that Barbers could also shave men (lol). John also said an older brother was with him and asked if the dad missed the wedding. The man said the dad passed before the wedding. I think John said that the father was at the wedding. John also asked the man about a ticket he received recently. As the man was trying to think, his wife verified that she got an ez pass ticket and the man said something like "that's the first I heard of this ticket" everyone laughed. Then John was talking about a song called smokey something or other and something about John Denver. All of a sudden half the audience shouted out :"Smokey Mountain High"! It was so funny especially since the song is called "Rocky Mountain High"! :lwink:

2nd Reading -

John mentioned a Jimmy/Joey name and said the person crossed himself over either by hanging or asphixiation (Sp?) John said there was a big reference to Ajax. A man said his brother died of an overdose and he cleaned with Ajax the night before he died.
(Thats all I can remember on that reading)

3rd reading -

John referred to Snoopy. He said there was a definite Snoopy reference and that somebody stole something. John joked that now he was coming to a theif. A woman said she had a dog named Snoopy who had passed. John said there was a older female above her. She said her mother in law had died. John said something about a miscarrige and that the mother-in-law had her baby. Then John went back to the Snoopy reference and told the woman that her dog Snoopy was a snapper or biter of people. He then said that her mother in law says that Snoopy is bullying her other dog like a german shepherd who passed. The woman acknowledged that she did have another dog who passed (a german shepherd). There was more in ths reading but I can't remember.

If anyone who was at the seminar can add to this or correct me if I told it wrong, please do.

:jumper: Hi everyone! I had been to the Sunday afternoon seminar, and won tickets to be at the Sunday night seminar also. I have had my sister up from fl. and then my Brother, but I did write EVERYTHING down. You all probably got most of the information, but I want to tell you about the GUN!!!!!!
My sister and I were sitting in the EE section, second row down from the wall. He went exactally across from us, and went on about that gun! (I had known I was going to win tickets, but had gotten a nervous feeling before doing so. I actually felt scared for John. This is another story) As he went on about the gun that same EXACT feeling started coming over me! I was fearful for him. That woman yelled out maybe if someone doesn't get a reading they're going to shoot you. He asked security to go to that person.(laughing)
WELL>>> The person that got a reading was my sister's sister-in-law!! We couldn't see her, because there was an overhang thing, but when she said that she had gotten run over by her father in law, we knew!! My sister ran over there but the usher wouldn't let her go to her. The seminar went on, and when we left I found out that WE were the ones that had the GUN!!! OMGoodness! In my truck, I had this toy gun (looks real!) and my daughter (who was sitting across from us) was playing with it. It is small and plastic, very realistic!
Well since he was across,and my sister ran over there, he said a couple of things that could have pertained to my sister. As in she is divorced, the gun and a little more. He hit everything on target! We were shocked to say the least! My sister is divorced, and hasn't seen the inlaws for a few years. Her ex had called her that morning. (which he never does) and then said he was thinking about trying to get back together. John said before he started that what he loves about westbury is that there are usually family there that don't even know there is another person at the seminar. Then they have a reunion. Both seminars were great! A lot of questions were answered!
I'll look and see what's been said on the board and see if I can add anything. I have at least four pages of each. Questions and answers.

Wow! I look forward to hearing more. I took notes that day but not very good ones. That is great that your sister's sister in law was read. That gun reference was a little scary. I'm glad you were able to validate. I really believe that even if you are on the other side of the room and John has his back to you, that you can receive messages. Please post more!:jumper:

I will start with the third reading:
The third reading with the stolen snoopy, or "borrowed" M name Mar- Mother in Law had the dog. Also had the son,It was important that the husband hears this. There was a special B-day, and a biting dog, compaired to Kujo that would bully the bigger dog. There were pink roses. Also acknowledged her going to the cemetary. A place to direct your love. The woman forgot which row her Mom was in. She was funny- reaching saying her dog "snoopy's" eyesite was stolen. John said, that's stretching it a bit! LOL. But the little dog was a bully to the big biting dog.

Next there was a mom bringing through someone that was pregnant when they passed. To say "Tommy" that they had a social worker energy. Mom was a transitioner- Someone that helps someone that passed get to where they're going. There was a father/ scorpio with a florida connection. A Butcher- Uncle Tom that was completly alone. They were wondering "Why do I do this" To not ignore things and to take more control of finances.

The next reading was a son that passed from an event. Something hit him and he was gone 10 years. Chris/father passed in May. Someone was a well known "FARTER" She called on the phone. Aunt "Kelly" the first child- there was nothing they could do for him. Patty had a favorite joke about lumpy bread. They had said the kind of bread but I didn't get it. There was eight in this family. This was the woman that called her aunt. It was hard to hear what she was saying. Only a one sided conversation.

Then there was my sister's sis in law. "Colleen" Carrying a gun, someone has a gun. They had the gun in the car on the way to the show. It was with them. Have patience, to sit back and watch, but don't lose it. She is the type to lose it, and if she does she will lose ground. There is a disability issue. A yellow light of caution- Don't discuss it! Tell anyone that calls that she had "Spoke to dad and she has to focus" She's not to talk about it. She needs an electrician, if she doesn't get her A/C fixed her electric won't work. His hat? He's ok- the gun and someone having an affair. This was the father figure. His name was Howard. Colleen is having a house built in Fl. and my sister's ex said the electric won't work because he didn't pay the bill! He thinks he's so funny...She is the type to fly off under pressure. Who isn't? Hopefully she will be able to bite her tongue as suggested, and wait till she's outside to let go.
Question- If her mom was to incarnate will she know her mom? He said yes, but that they don't usually incarnate during our lifetime. It's very rare. Like if someone passes, and someone is pregnant, for that child to be the father for instance. Funny, my S-I-L thought her son was her dad. They can have the same qualities though.
Question- Have you ever come in contact with a Spirit that gives you a bad feeling? He talked about someone that flew someone in from Dallas- I am not sure if he was a lawyer- or was the mass murderer- but he didn't like that reading.
Question- The dad seemed to be fighting his passing, was it his time to go? He used the analogy of going to the dentist. Some don't like to go, but know that they have to go. He said no one passes before their time.
Question-How do you fine tune? It's a process. It used to drip out when he first started, now it's like Niagra Falls. The more you do it the better you get at it.
Question-Constant signs? Yes- same signs are for certain people that have passed. As in you may find little white feathers/ Don't ask for signs though!
Question- Do you stay close? Yes- we're always connected by the bonds of love.
Sept 11th passing-2 kids or young energy- names related- cousin Sandy- Dad Male figure above- they were given something of his that is authentic. They thought it was just given to them, but it indeed was authentic. To him it was a 'job' They went to Pennsylvania as a tribute to him- (he was to go fishing)He had an aunt with him- he was a red head- he had to pee out a window. (He was a marathon runner, and this turned out to be a tradition) There was someone who was shot- a gun accident/ Kevin. Fire or police tie-27th/ Something about someone getting glasses, and they made a choice to not meet a famous person. (They didn't meet the president)He knew what was happening. He had NO FEAR- he went in and out a few times but he was in the outter part. Pudding pie reference- Georgie Porgy Pudding Pie- (they called him)They have his boots or shoes- words said were for everyone. (this was acknowledged) Someone split their pants! Son says Dad wasn't a failure. <- I believe this saying may have been from him->It's not that I'm afraid of dying, It's that I'm afraid I'm not living
Question- Can someone pass before their time? No- he told a story of Clayton Elliot- he lost two children at the hands of his wife. I can't remember all the details of this explanation
Question- Do they ever come as a flash? You think you saw them? Yes- write it down. Look at the time the date and make note of it. Question- Direct voice mediumship- Whoopie Goldberg- this was discussed- then someone yelled out Ellie Channels.
Question- What is Dejavu- It is usually something that we have dreamt and then it happens.
Then there was the Brownie maker. A Sister/ father/ Father in law someone with throat problems- someone rebuilding a relationship. did she raise her? she had problems with her knees the left one hurt more. Mom and Aunt and a July anniversary. The brownies are big! Anna/ Louis was very organized, she likes the halloween party- to continue what you're doing.

A younger Female energy made a cameo. Emily- Hey I'm here! there's a Dad in a uniform with a shoulder tumor/ Grandmother and the 17th. Dad had a hard personality- Colonastopy- and the baby-Cameo --This was a very quick read
Question- Were you ever involved in helping with law enforcement? He said yes, but he never solved a case. He worked with his friend...Shelly? I can't remember the name right now, and didn't write it down. They would check each other on their notes, and then give the info. But he wasn't fond of this.
The last question was a man asking about his friends passing. He feels the presence. John said Yes, his friend was with him- for him to move through his grief- to thank them, but to not let it be a hindrance- To understand the process- and acknowledge when it happens and thank them
He ended by reminding everyone to Communicate Appreciate and Validate!

There is another thread recently bumped up about asking our guides for signs. I assume JE was saying don't ask "loved ones" for specific signs? Is that right? If so, what about him asking his mom for three specific things? :confused: Just a little confused and curious. Can you or maybe Nauset try to elaborate on that one? :teacher: With all you heard that may be a tall order, but give it a shot if you can.

I look forward to Silly clarifying that note. However could it possibly be the statement that many of us have heard JE say regarding missing the forest for the trees. Remember how he talks about not getting so caught up in looking for that specific sign you requested that you miss all the subtle other little signs that we get along the way.

He uses his experience of when his mother passed and he asked her for the white bird. He was so busy looking for that that he totally dismissed all the other messages that Shelly Peck and others brought him for days!

I am sort of hoping that is what he meant. That is how I have understood it. We can get caught up in the obvious and miss the subtle - I have heard JE speak of it on TV.

Since I have never been to a seminar to hear him address signs, I am greatful to those that have and can share some of their thoughts on the subject.

Starlasue, I would like to say that Doodledink is right on target. I am sorry for my notes to be so vague. I even questioned myself as to posting them. It's been twelve days since going, and I did get to go to two shows. Not to mention you really have to write fast. He actually used his mom and the bird reference in the answer to this question. The signs will come on their own, but if you're looking so hard every day, it could be right in front of your face and you will then miss it. He said that he actually picked a flower from the bird for use, without even realizing it was a bird.

The question was actually are there certain signs that will come up for certain people. Like I have a song for most people's passing, a song for my day at the Gallery...certain special moments. Pennies are usually my Uncle, although I found a quarter while thinking of my Grandma, and it was a 1978 date, and that is the date of her passing. I still have it. I guess he used white feathers in association with his mom.
I hope this helps. I posted in hope that it may stir other peoples memory on this afternoon session. I have the 7:30 session still in my book. It seems that those notes are harder to understand, but if you want I will take a shot at it. I found that it's hard to write someone elses reading down. It tends to be one sided. I tried to get what John was saying, and if they validated what he was saying, I moved on with John. If they said something significant, I added it.

I thought that might be the case. As I said up above I am amazed at how many notes you got. I watch him on TV and think "man, it would be hard to get all of that down" and then I realize that what I am watching is edited! I can't imagine how fast he is to follow in person! And how powerful the energies are in the room as you are trying to do that!

I am interested in any feedback from the seminars. I particularly like when more than one person posts about the same seminar b/c their viewpoints and what they heard differ a bit. I think that is useful to those of us who have not had the experience.
