I spoke with personnel at the Hollywood Palladium this morning and she was kind enough to inform me that there is a parking lot next to the theater and parking can range from $6 to $10 depending on the event. Hollywood also does not have any ordinances that prohibit camping over night. She also stated that there is no set time prior to the event that you can arrive. As you know it is a first come first seated event. The area where the Palladium is located is not in a bad neighborhood but as always exsercise safety and caution first. One more thing about parking, there is street parking which you do not have to pay for but they are hard to find if you arrive too late.
Will update you as I gather more info.
Thanks,

You're an angel! :angel2: Thank you for making that effort. That's great information. I don't think I want to sleep overnight out there, but I don't mind going early in the morning. I think, as it gets closer, those of who are going to this should make some kind of plan. That way, we can cover each other for bathroom breaks, food runs, etc. It could be a really great day even before it starts! I've met some of the greatest people just waiting in line to see him. (Hi, Sandra! :))

Great job on the info ymalone. As long as you're being our "info" person, could or do you know of a good location to meet people? Such as McDonalds close by or somewhere like that? Thanks. Love a Lab
If one person going volunteers to be the contact person and has everyone's emails, it make it easy for all to know when and where to meet. We did it for the Las Vegas event and it worked out great. We had a large group going and we all got to meet each other. :jumper:

Hi all going to the LA seminar! Me too!! :jumper: I am so excited!!
This will be my fourth seminar and I am just as excited about it this time around-maybe even a little more so because I know what to expect. I am traveling from Texas to go to this with my sister who lives not too far from LA. Any advice on the area is soooo appreciated. I probably will not be able to arrive too early due to travel, :( It is so much fun to get there early and have time to chat with the fans all around you. It is so much more than just a 2 1/2 hour seminar!! If you guys do meet up, my sister and I would love to join the crowd if possible. Please keep me in mind.
Thanks!

ymalone,
Thanks so much for the helpful advice. It's little things like parking that can make things go smoothly or frustrating. I live in the LA area but am not familiar with that part of Hollywood. Glad to have all that great info. Tx.

Seriously? I've never been to a "general seating" JE event before. I thought "doors opening at 5:30" sounded early for a 7p.m. event.
How far in advance do people line up? If you get there an hour or two ahead are you likely to get seats far away?
I'm not expecting a reading, but it's nice to be close (especially if the big screens aren't up). How far in advance do people recommend getting to a 3500 person event?
I have been to 3 seminars total and 2 of them were not assigned seating events. Both times people got there several hours ahead of time and lined up in the hallways. The people at the very front of the line arrived about 8 hrs. early or as soon as the convention center doors opened that morning. I have always arrived about 3-4 hrs. early and have been happy with my seats
in the middle sections. Of course anyone who has been to a seminar can tell you that it really doesn't matter where you are sitting as far as your chances for a reading. Any seat in the house is sure to be a good one!!
:) I must say though one of my favorite parts of the whole "seminar experience" is sitting in line hours in advance meeting wonderful people who share in my beliefs in all of this!
The excitment that builds ahead of time is sooo awesome!!
I have been lucky enough to be read by John a couple of times-one at a seminar, one on the phone through a radio contest.
I would absolutely still go to all the seminars I possibly can even if I knew without a doubt I would never get another reading. It is that great of an experience! So healing!
I can't wait - I'm counting down the days till LA :jumper:

I don't go to get read. I'm pretty certain I won't get a reading. But I love to watch the process up close, and I'm willing to wait around outside a long time for that. :)

I'm kind of surprised to see that there are still tickets for the LA and Seattle seminars. They usually sell out so fast!

I'm with you Sarah. It seems that everything in the L.A. area sells out quickly, but have you seen any promotion for this seminar anywhere else other than JE web site?

If you guys want, I'll put together a mailing list of all of us who are going, and we can make arrangements privately. :cuser:
Thank you so much for the research, ymalone! I'm embarrased to say I live less than 10 miles from the Palladium, and I haven't checked into anything yet! :(
