Well, I have to say I'm as anxious as the rest to find out how the seminar went.
I was actually set to go, when I had to back out because my husband was unable to get off from work :(
To say that I was disappointed is an understatement.
I called JE's office to make them aware, so they could fill the slot if needed. They were so kind, and proceeded to tell me that there WILL be other Bridges seminars (yeah) :jumper: and that I can come to another one.......once I get through on the phones again:eek: . She also told me that subscribers are only allowed to attend one seminar, such that they can give all subscribers a fair chance to attend.
AT any rate, I'm dying to hear how it went......and hope all of our friends made NEW ((Friends)).
Oh, Annemarie, I'm sorry to hear that. I'm sure you are disappointed, but at least you'll have another chance to attend at a future date. :)
Thank you for posting, Annemarie. It's a good thing you did call so you will have another chance. It is a wonderful experience.
Gail :)

I just noticed in another thread that my name was listed as one of the people going to the Sept. 26 seminar. For the record, I'm not a Bridges subscriber and I was never invited to go to the seminar.
But after reading AnnieB43's post, I'm seriously thinking of becoming a Bridges subscriber. It's good to know that I didn't blow a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and there'll be other Bridges seminars in the future :jumper:

i went friday and it was great. john had a bad cold and said that he couldnt do his normal pacing since he was a bitt dizzy :goofy: from his cold and being "medicated".
i met susan (nausett) at the hotel. my neighbors daughter denise was suppose to go with me but the could not attend because her uncle had passed away wednesday night. we met teenasee and angelica and two other folks (sorry i'm bad on names) it was fantastic to put faces to these names.
everyone is soooo nice. susan's husband did three charactertures (cartoons) of john. they were great. we met up with carol and gave them to her. she thought they were really funny and said john would love them. susan also gave carol a letter from when she when to the bridges 9/9 seminar in which her sister came thru. we all talked with carol for a while. this was the first time i got to meet her and she is just the greatest thing. so down to earth and friendly.
the seminar started and john told us about his cold and how he slept until 5:30 that afternoon to do the seminar for us. what a trooper. you could see he was sick. he said that the otherside seems to take care of him when he does readings and then crashes even more when he's done.
john took some questions then started to do readings. he did about 8 in all. susan took notes on every one so when she posts she should have alot better notes then these. one funny one was when john had asked if someone was in the korean war and a woman said her father was and he was waiting outside. john asked him to come in and asked if he had "stolen" something, like a rifle from when he was there. the man simply said "no, i didnt steal it, i took it"....LOL.... it was hysterical. i still remember john's reaction, he couldnt even talk he was laughing so hard. after a few readings john said for everyone to take a 5 minute break and when we came back he started to read a family about 5 rows back from where susan and i were sitting. for me this was another "always a me too, never a read". everything that was for this family was for me. i raised my hand and john looked an me and just shook his head then said he was definetly being pulled to the back. i listened and susan wrote franticly. thank you susan for taking so many notes. i truly believe it was my husbands grandmother who had just passed two weeks ago coming thru and the uncle my friend denise, (the person who was suppose to come with me).
there were so many vaidations for me so i will just give you two that really blew me away. john had said that the other side was referancing a white beaded braclet or rosary. i had bought a white beaded rosay braclet last weekend at a local fair in my town. i wore it friday night and when john said that i pushed my hand right in susans face and she was just as shocked as i was.
the second one was during the break we met susan's mom and daughther out the seminar room and we were talking about what they had for dinner. susan's mom said that it was good but she ate too much. during the reading john was mentioning that someone was talking about eating too much or eating a huge hamburger and how it made them sick. susan and i looked at eachother in shock again.
at the end of the seminar we got a goodie bag to take home: a austrailia tour t-shirt, the book "if god were the sun" and a book mark. it was a nice gift and a total surprise.
here's one sad thing though. during one of the readings john said that someone was referencing quitting their job. the woman said "should i, can you tell me how" and john said "if you do can you tell me". he said things like this a couple of times and it seems like he is getting tired of doing crossing over. it does take up a lot of his time and he said he wanted to try and focus more on doing private readings and getting that 2 year waiting list down. it would be sad if he stopped doing the show but he has to do what he feels is right for him.
so that's what happen. like i said susan took all the notes on all the readings.
the night was a total blast and i went home with alot of messages for my family.
i believe john said that he got such a great response to these special seminar's that he would probably do more in the future.
AND anyone who went, he asked that we write in and let him know how was. the letters would be posted in future bridges issues.
Thanks for the info, Paula! We've all been so anxious to hear how it went! Glad you got to meet up with other Friends, and that you were able to recognize and appreciate your "me, too"!!

Paula,
I want to thank you personally for your detailed report. I went to the book signing in Denver and I never said anything about it because, well, John looked awaful. He was so low energy I kept thinking, someone ought to put him in bed with some chicken soup! Not the kind of thing we post here at all!
But it would make perfect sense if he was just getting the cold that you talked about. He was so worn down when he was here, no wonder he caught something. So, I am glad to hear he is doing better even if he seems worse!
Of course, now I have a cold. I wonder if we all got more than his autograph that day!! Sounds like you all had a great time.

I was sick as a dawg too... keepin Sudafed in business. :( I was even sicker to see all the work that piled up on my desk while we were having so much fun!!

that's funny, i guess we all share more then just a love for JE. i went to the seminar friday with a cold and i was almost sure i had a fever. it didnt matter though, nothing was going to stop me from going.
Thank you, Paula for your great post. We were all starting to wonder what went on to keep everyone away from their computers. :cuser: Sounds like you had a really good time.
One big difference I noticed between the small Bridges seminar and one of the huge regular seminars is that you know you are really in the same room with John. The huge seminars with the big screens, even though the screens are needed, make you feel like you are watching it all on television.

Okay I've been looking at my notes and I'm thinking I should have been a doctor cuz I can't make sense out of half of it.
Let me just say the location of the seminar was very nice and the atmosphere was quite relaxing. We got to go in early and pick out where we wanted to sit and they had refreshments in the back of the room. Everyone there seemed to be in good spirits and I didn't feel any negative energy coming from anyone.
Yes, one of my favorite stories was the older Korean war veteran. I was watching him earlier in the hallway that night and he was just patiently waiting there for his wife. He had NO intentions of going in AT ALL. We all know how that works when John is around! John was telling everyone earlier a story about perception and it really made this gentleman's response about how he "just took it" that much funnier. John made the comment "that you already know they're still around and you don't understand why everyone is making such a big fuss over this." He sat there with his arms crossed with a big smile on his face and just said "Yep.". He was a real character!
We got to meet Paula0405 and Nauset. Nauset's husband is very talented to make such cool caricatures of John. They were sitting in the row right behind us. We also met Angelina and her friend briefly and yes, Angelina is even more beautiful in person. They were in the 1st row front and center! Angelina was lucky to get a reading by John but I will let her post about that. They were all so very nice and it was great to meet them.
I finally got to ask John a question and as I was sitting there with my arm up, another lady basically asked the same kind of question I wanted to ask. She asked about reincarnation in general and I had a very specific question about it but I didn't want to seem redundant. He pointed over in my direction and I got that deer in the headlights look!
:surprise:<---- That would be me!
So I asked him what he thought he would be doing 10 years from now. The man's basically "done it all"! A nationally syndicated show, 3 books, a 3-year waiting list, and sold out tours. I wish I had written this down but maybe someone else did. He came back with a sincere yet funny response. He said something to the effect that he will always be a medium. He will always be doing just that even when he's old. He'll be giving readings in the hospital, with his bedpan and all.
He went into a short story about how he didn't always know he could do this and as a child he freaked out people at the hospital when he had to have surgery. (What surgery... I don't know) This story may be out of sequence. He was under anesthetic and talking and scaring people around him with what he was saying. He didn't have someone there at the time to tell him what we all know he can do now.
He told us the story about disobeying one of the top 10 Italian commandments: He, Sandra and Justin went to the Macaroni Grill one night for dinner. LOL! This is where my pen didn't keep up with me. He said that night he could feel his mother all around him and then her song played in the restaurant (do I have that right?) and then his grandmother's song came on as well "In The Mood". When they went out to their car, John found a white feather on his door handle. Which we all know is John's sign for his mother. He said to Sandra "Boy they're really working overtime tonight... I wonder why." to which she replied "Oh gee, I don't know... maybe this... and she held up baby Justin!" :baby:
When it was break time, we finally got to talk to Carol. As usual she was very cool and easy to talk to. I had made a quilt block for Justin a few months ago that was "supposed" to be a pillow but my sewing machine broke so I gave the block to Carol in hopes that they could do "something" with it. LOL.
She told us that she hasn't forgotten us and all the questions we posted for her to answer for us! She promised that she would be working on them very soon so that's very exciting!
John told a story about a woman who came to his house with her dog. He always discouraged people from bringing pets so as not to disturb the process but she insisted that HER dog was a barkless dog. She told him her dog never barks EVER so John let them both in (lol). Later in the reading he was "informed" by the ladies father (?) that he was going to make that dog bark during their session. So John told the lady, your dog is going to walk over to that wall and bark at it. She basically told John that he was full of it and laughed but sure enough that dog did exactly that!!! She walked out of that session with a new appreciation for the process...
There were people at that seminar from all over the country as well as other countries such as Canada and England. Right before John called on another person to ask a question, he started talking about England and the prospects of going there and sure enough the lady was from England. I always think thats SO funny - I swear he knew what she was going to ask beforehand. She wanted to know when he was coming to England to which he asked her "Why would she come all the way to the U.S. when England was the starting point for spirituality??" He said England is full of talented mediums. She started laughing and we all know the answer to that. John is so much fun to watch and very easy to relate to. He was put on the spot and he said that YES he would be going to England!!! You should have seen the look on Carol's face... I don't think she knew she was going to be eating fish and chips! But there were at least 200 witnesses so he's gotta make good on that promise!
He told us another story about how he was sick at another seminar in Somerset, NJ. He was in the back room waiting to go out and told the event coordinator or publicist (?) that he just couldn't do it. He was too sick. He said he knew another psychic who could fill in for him so she acted all calm, said no problem and went to tell people John wouldn't be able to read that night. She came back just a few minutes later and "informed" John that he better get his "self" out there and read! She didn't care if he was sick or not. At this point he had a fever of 103 and thought he was going to "lose his lunch" but he did it anyway. He quickly found out that his guides and spirit give him the energy he needs to communicate and pass along messages. He gave excellent reads (of course) and made it through the seminar. Afterwards the same lady came up to him and said "Wow, how cool is that!". UGH! He found out quickly that he would be doing a crash and burn in the energy department. He felt terrible the next day.
We are all thankful to John for continuing with our seminar although he was sick and hope he didn't suffer too much the next day! (((John)))
I know I'm leaving out alot here so as I remember more I will post and hopefully this will jog other people's memories as well.
When I found out I was really getting to go to NY for the first time I was very excited and started doing my little NY imitations like "Forgedaboudit" and "How YOU doin", giggling the whole time! Well apparently turn about is fair play... I was "trying" to order calamari through room service and the guy taking my order was all over MY accent!! He started talking really slow and was like "soooo ewe wahhnah orrdur sum call-eee-mary"??? He had me cracking up, like I have an accent - puh leeze! Hehehe
All in all, it was an awesome time.... new friends were made... new memories were made... another state is now explored... and I hope John decides to do alot more of these kind of seminars!!

Well, I'm finally home! I brought my sister and we stayed in New York until late Sunday night which put us in Oakland at about 1am, and my sister's house in SF almost an hour later. Poor thing had to get up at 6am for work while I laid in bed, watched TV, and waited for my ride home.:D
What a phenomenal trip!
Unfortunately, I didn't get to meet any Friends. I stayed at a different (cheaper) hotel and wasn't sure what time I would make it to the event so I didn't want anyone waiting for me. I figured I would recognize HeatherC from Las Vegas but I didn't see her...now I know why.:lwink: I kept describing Heather to my sister and we were both scanning the room for her...nope....didn't see her anywhere...LOL
A blond woman in the front turned out to be Angelina but I was nowhere near the front. Angelina was one of the first readings. Her reading seemed to be a great lead-in for the woman she was with who was also read. I'll let her post her own experience.
Paula - Great question! The way he answered made me think he'd be happy to do Crossing Over for a couple more years and then focus on seminar type events, and the more "educational" things like Workshops and Retreats. It made me think about the people who work on the show. It will be hard enough as a viewer to have the show end, but to have it be such a huge part of your life and then let it go would be REALLY tough. I mean, what do you do next, a game show?
John did say he doesn't see himself ever retiring. He talked about looking forward to being less recognizable again when the show ends. He mentioned knowing that the attention people give him is really about what he represents, that they're loved ones are still around them, and that it's not really about him.
Someone asked him if he was familiar with Edgar Cayce. He said he was, and that he'd read quite a bit about him when he was a teenager. The man then asked if John knew how Cayce had died and, if I understood him correctly, seemed to be asking John if he worried about this work eventually killing him. He didn't come right out and say that so maybe I was hearing him wrong but that's what it sounded like to me. John answered that he would be doing this work until he died but never said anything about the work killing him. I'd be interested to know if anyone else heard that question the same way I did.
He talked about not being able to be a medium for himself and needing to get the same kinds of signs and validations we look for from our families. This led to a funny story about his knack for being the one picked for the super search at the airport. Apparently this started way before Crossing Over so it's not security guards who want to meet him or anything like that. He's just always the one picked. This one time in particular, the search was going on and on until he was standing there nearly undressed. He finally looked at the guy's badge number and it was 7-21-89. 7-21 is his mother's B-day and 89 is the year she died. As soon as he noticed the badge number the security guy said he was through. He said by that time his mom was probably yelling, LOOK AT THE FRIGGIN BADGE!!!! from the Other Side.:D
Almost everyone in the row behind me was read. The first people in that row to be read were a couple who had lost both of they're children in a car accident. First the kids came through and then the woman's father to say they were in good hands. One of the kids was a real talker and the other was shy. There were many validations from their children but the most poignant was the more outgoing daughter telling her mother that she (the mother) had been a sunny, vibrant person until the accident and that the daughter was trying to help her push the clouds away so that she could be that person again. Because they were in the row right behind me, and their reading was isolated, I was able to take notes and make sure they got them.
I took notes on the whole row behind me with the idea of giving them to the people they belonged to but, other than the first couple, one reading led right into another and then they started bouncing around so I had no idea what went to whom.
I didn't get read, but my grandma was there. After the seminar my sister and I walked to the car talking about our grandma's name being mentioned in one of the readings that happened very close to us. I have a special song validation with my grandma, Celine Dion's I'm Your Angel. When we turned on the car, there it was. It's not played on the radio very often. The only other time I heard it on the radio I was coming home from a scary medical thing and was wishing my grandma was still here. Having a reading couldn't have made that more perfect.
I love you Grandma! Thanks for meeting me in New York!

Great reports ladies. Sounds like it was a blast! Funny about everyone being sick. I was sick after my gallery visit last week and I am still not 100% yet. It is so cold in the studio. Shivering cold! Maybe that's why John got his cold too.

I was going to go with TeenaSee, but things got complicated with transportation and such and I backed out.
I was actually very busy and got a lot accomplished with the book, so it was a good thing after all. I think my guides kept me home for a reason. I just wish they wouldn't do it at seeing John's expense! (Or Teenasee who is FANTASTIC)

I think maybe John and crew need to start spraying with Lysol as well as purifying the area with SAGE!
Sounds like you all had a fantastic time.
The JE and Edgar Cayce connection has been on my mind since my first Charlotte seminar, when he mentioned watching Edgar Cayce's life on TV right before the seminar. (Coincidence?) So I too worry about John working too hard (for all of us!)
Keep those great posts coming, I anxious to hear about Angelina's reading as well as others from the board.

Hi ya Wyn!
Actually I could tell I was getting sick before I left Charlotte. I was like, no BODY including mine was going to keep me from THIS trip! LOL :D I Just repeated this mantra over and over and clenched my fists:
I am NOT sick! I am NOT sick! I am NOT sick!
After it was over, I was like o.k., NOW I'm sick... :green:
I grew up reading about Edgar Cayce and being a member of A.R.E. I found him fascinating. I too think John is way overworked but I think he does it because he wants to help people SO much. Sometimes it's hard to know where to draw the line. Hopefully his guides will keep him in check and he won't jeopardize his own health.
I can't wait to hear from Angelina either.... :jumper:

Sorry it took me so long to post
I tried twice.....but my posts got messed up and never made it here.
Yes I got a reading but it happened in the most wonderful way.
It happened that a guy I went to school with came through. he ended up bringing through my friends family.
I had this overwhelming need to bring my yearbook with me. While I was getting ready for the day, that thought stayed with me. I kept looking at it and remembering my high school days. I decided to put that gut feeling to the test and I asked for a sign that I should take it.
As I was rushing around getting ready to leave for the seminar, I was putting things in my purse and noticed that I had left some new pictures of my 3-month-old niece in my purse. I was afraid that they would get crushed so, as I was leaving, I put them in between the pages of the first book I could find. As I went to slam the cover down, I noticed it was my yearbook. Then I noticed the page I had opened it to. The page was of a childhood boyfriend who lost his life fighting the war on terrorism in Afghanistan.
I just stood there staring at his picture realizing that I asked for a sign and I got it. Out of all the pages, I could have opened it to; I open it to his? Plu-leese.
I thanked him for the sign and took the Yearbook with me. Not knowing what to expect
At one point of the night, JE was pulled to the opposite side of where I was sitting. Something about what he said made me feel it was for me. I felt I had to look in my yearbook. Then it came to me. Everything he said made sense for me.
I have an enormous amount of respectful for John's work. I enjoy studying how different mediums work. I know when John is pulled to an area…….That is it. He is in that area and needs to honor that pull.
So, I didn’t say anything until I heard that no one was claiming the energy.
I then got John's attention. Keep n mind I was on the opposite side of the room in the front row
John said he was sorry, and that it prolly wasnt for me because he was getting pulled to the right side of the room.
I understood the process. I know that he needs to honor the pull.
He then repeated what he was getting to the folks on the opposite side of the room.
"I m getting a J. "
They are making feel like they took their own life.
There is an electrician connected to this.
I am getting some new info now and there is an "A "connection and someone in dentistry"
I couldn’t take it any longer. At that point, I had opened my yearbook to James's picture. I had to see his face to remember that sad day. I had to honor his memory if this was him coming through. I actually got the guts and spoke up.
Truthfully, I think back about that moment and couldn't believe that I did this.
I must have gasped though before I spoke because John looked in my direction and said
"Could I be in the wrong area with this information"
I said I was sorry that I didn’t want to be a relative stealer but I could validate all of the info.
The J was my classmate. His name was James.
The A was me …my name is Angelina
James was in Shop class when he sadly Hung himself. He always walked around with those toolbelts that electricians wore. . I also just found out that he worked part time after school for a local electrician in town!!
And the dental connection…..From High school to my mid twenties..I was a dental assitant. My first husband…..a dentist.
I think that was all John needed to hear. The cool thing was at that point. James brought through my friend's family. It all came at a time when she and her husband really…really needed to hear the messages. Even cooler ..The family on the otherside of the room…. had something in common with my friend. So the orginal pulled was honored.
I can't help but feel that my Childhood boyfriend John had something to do with this. I swear if I hadn't had that yearbook with me. I wouldn’t have been able to refresh my memory of James. The otherside orchestrated this and stepped in when they saw the chance. The cool thing is I received the BEST validation of all. When you pay attention to the signs, acknowledge the otherside and honor what you are getting…incredible things can happen. I am so grateful that John's work has taught me that. I also can continue a relationship with my childhood boyfriend John, honor his memory, and know that he is around.
The whole night was neat. I truely never go to seminars needing a reading. I feel the personal validations I have received on my own are so special. I love going to learn more about how a medium works and see the healing messages come through. That is why this took me off guard. The otherside is so amazing.

PS JE always works his tail off but the poor Man really did that night. At some points of the night, he was sitting in a chair because he didnt feel good.
I so admire his drive and determination as a teacher in this field.
Congratulations, Angelina! What an exciting night for you and your friend! :)
Can you share any of your friend's reading with us, too? We can't get enough of this stuff! ;)
What a wonderful experience for you, Angelina! You were also the reason your friend had a reading since she came with you. Like you said...."the otherside is so amazing".
Hope you can convince your friend to tell us about her reading. :)

Angelina,
I am so happy for you. What an experience! It just goes to show how important it is to pay attention to the signs that the other side gives us, and how very important it is to honor them. Those gut feelings are for a reason, as your experience has proven. Thank you for sharing the experience with all of us. Congratulations!

Angelina,
Were you the reading that ended with someone named Rose and an anniversary around Easter or a Catholic holiday?? I was on the other side of the room and in the back (my hubby asked the Edgar Cayce question.) I did't hear those two items validated and couldn't see the person being read. My Mom's name is Rosalie and she passed the day after Easter. I really thought that might be for me - - -but we were so far away from the reading and I know John must honor the pull. It really was wonderful to see John in such a small venue. Even though we weren't read it is such a comfort to see him work.
