I've never had a one on one with John, nor have I ever been read, but I wanted to share what I experienced when I first saw him at a seminar. Yes, I've read all of the "cold reading" theories and such, but I think what won me over was when I saw him live up in Denver about 2 and 1/2 years ago.

I had got to the seminar early and while I was in the parking lot, I met an couple that were about in their upper 60's. We started chatting because they were by their truck and had a license plate that said Cheyenne Wyoming, so I realized that they had traveled to see him. Anyway, we started chatting for a bit, and I asked them who they were hoping to hear from, and the lady started talking about how her father had passed from throat cancer and it was a terrible time due to all of the complications and multiple surgeries involved.

Anyway, she got pretty choked up and couldn't finish telling me everything...Well, about 2/3rds of the way into the seminar, John starts walking down towards our aisle, and just kinda staring in the row behind me(where the people I talked to were seated). Anyway, as he was looking in that row he mentioned "did someone here lose their father to cancer". Yes, that statement was general, BUT nobody said anything in the row because nobody in that row knew it would be for them. Then he starts holding his throat and mentions about it being a cancer in the throat area. There were about 10 to 12 people in the row total, but they all shook their heads "no" and most of them looked at each other confused, EXCEPT for that older couple in the milddle of the row that I was talking to in the parking lot.

Anyway, at first she didn't say anything because she was awestruck, but then John mentioned it again and said, "nope, it has to be right here(he pointed to the row). Then the lady started to breakdown and cry raised her hand and mentioned about her father who recently passed from throat cancer. John then said "was there 3 surgeries that had to be done because the first one went wrong?", and he nailed that one. The woman had mentioned that to me in the parking lot. There was a bad problem with the first surgery, and they had to take him right back to the hospital a few days later for another surgery. She told me they had to do a 3rd surgery, but I forgot what the reason was. He died a few months later, as it was too late...Anyway, then John got super specific, and he said, "He's joking about the song "New York, New York" by Frank Sinatra " Was this a song of his, or what's the joke here."? She nodded and said that it was his favorite song and and they decided to dance to it right by his bedside 1 night before he passed....Anyway, her father even broke down in tears at that point.... Now keep in mind that I've watched him on TV many times and he's never mentioned "New York, New York" that I can remember(I could be wrong), and I don't think he's ever mentioned it and throat cancer in the same reading.....And no, there weren't any of John's staff running around listening to us, hehe. In fact, we were backed clear in the back of the lot under a couple of shade trees.

One of the things that really shook me was when the lady told me after the reading that she had mentioned to her husband before they left home that if he reads her and mentions throat cancer in the same reading, she'd know it was for real. Out of about 12 to 15 people that got reading that day, her reading was the ONLY time throat cancer was mentioned at the entire seminar. There were ALOT of rows in that auditorium too. It was packed....I always like to play the "odds" in these things, especially when he brings up specifics here and there...He also had a few other specifics in other readings as well. My only complaint was that the mics kept having problems in that auditorium, and due to the size of it, it was VERY difficult to hear readings when John walked clear in the back..Nonetheless, I tried to write down whatever I heard to analyze it later. I missed alot of bits and pieces.

The reading behind me with Grace and Jim(the couple) was the only one I was able to get most of... ..I realize that to have hard scientific evidence one way or the other is extremely difficult when working with such subtle energies...
Anyway, That was the day that convinced me 100% that John was real.....The specifics tossed around in that reading FAR outweigh any type of lucky guess or cold reading technique....

Thank for posting that experience. I think I would be fascinated to witness such a reading and the impact that it has on the sitter. How special for them and for you.

Peace

Yes, how special for them and you. Did you ever consider that it wasn't a coincidence? You weren't meant to know what you did, so that you could be made a beleiver.

Well, like other students of metaphysics, I too don't believe in coincidences :). I went to the seminar with a very open mind. Although I already pretty much believed in John, I just wanted to see if he could do live what he does on TV, and he passed it with flying colors.
