Hi again! Does anyone have this weekend as their date for the Bridges Event? I think I am looking for others who are braving the elements to attend. Then I won't feel so torn! I so want to go, I know that whenever I have been fortunate enough to attend a seminar, John always offers such wonderful, healing messages. But, this weather....

Hi Carol - I posted a reply to your other thread. I'm agoing if the plane is ... :jumper: Coming from Buffalo, I can't believe that there's any NYC storm that I can't handle ;)
Speaking of storms, I had to clear 1/2" of ice off of my car this fine morning ... schools were closed or delayed ... but my university president doesn't believe in shutting down. It's now snowing (we're supposed to get 4-6" ).

Oh, I am so happy to hear from someone else that is making the trip. Where are you flying into? I know I sound like a big baby, but here in California the only thing we ever have to worry about when flying is fog. Are you taking a cab out to the venue? I used to travel to NY on business frequently, but always had my company at that time make all the arrangements.
I hope that I will be on that plane, and my friend makes her flight from Seattle. We are going Thursday in case there is any delay, hopefully we can still make the event.
Thank you for responding!

Hubby and I are flying into Islip from Kansas the day before the event and will take a taxi to the venue. I hope the weather cooperates and the taxi fare doesn't break the bank. We are recovering from the same storm that is hitting NY now. Ice storm one day followed by a blanket of snow the next day. Highways were like playing bumper cars. Well, if the planes are taking off and landing, we'll be there! Can't wait! Anyone who will be there, send me email if you want to meet ahead of time.

I will be driving 4 hours tomorrow night from Wyoming to Salt Lake City. Then I will catch a plane on Thursday morning. It is snowing as I speak and expected to continue, but I am very used to this kind of weather. Slow speeds and lots of white light and I am on my way. :) I am in total agreement with Carolyn. The only way I won't be going is if the plane doesn't go. Can't wait to see everyone there.

I'll be there! I'm flying in from Michigan Thursday and staying at the venue. I rented a car because my flight out on Sunday leaves at 6:00 am and I didn't want to take any chances with depending on a taxi. Islip airport is 19 miles from the venue and the hotel said that taxi's are VERY expensive (I saw a website that gave taxi rates if you wanna check it out). If there's a group getting together please email me and let me know the details :jumper:

Wishing everyone a safe journey to and from the seminar this weekend. I know you all will have a wonderful experience!!!
Just a heads up - the room we were in got very, very warm. Even John commented on it. I had a long sleeved sweater on and I was almost uncomfortably warm. Short sleeves would've been a better choice, but who knew? Of course you all may be in a different room or, hopefully the thermostat has been adjusted!!
Anyway, have a great time and remember to take good notes so you can report back to the rest of us!!!!!:cuser:
Blessings to All,

To all of you heading to the Bridges event this weekend.........slow and steady she goes!!! Have a safe trip, lots of fun, a miracle or two, and take LOTS of notes.
I am looking forward to reading all about your trips.
Just a reminder... Take LOTS of spare batteries for your cameras, as the cold tends to drain them quickly. Even if you aren't able to post the pictures, they are always nice to have for your own personal enjoyment.
Again, take care and God Bless you all on your journey/journies.

Speaking of cameras... I know they don't usually allow cameras at the seminars, is it the same rule for this seminar series? Also, since it's a "small" group, does John do any meeting and greeting afterwards? (Wishful thinking)
Julie
If I remember correctly John asked that no pictures be taken while he is doing readings. But if you can catch one or two while on break or at the end he didn't mind. Also you might want to take pictures of the "Friends" you meet.
John did not do any meet and greet at the one I was at.
I hope this helps!!

We did have cameras at our Bridges seminar and took pictures in the room before John arrived. No pictures were taken during the seminar and John did not stay after.
I don't think there has been any event where pictures were allowed to be taken during it, but that doesn't stop people from taking them anyway. Since John is trying to see where he is getting his "pull", a camera flash would only hinder his sight.
I know I would never go against his wishes and take a flash picture even though, like most of you, I would love a picture of him. :)
:jumper: :jumper: :jumper: Yes, I too am going to the Bridges seminar this week-end- assuming the planes can get in!! I should not have any problems leaving Texas it's the arrival of course that I am worried about! My sister is meeting me in NY and she is coming from CA. We are flying into JFK and rented a car to drive to the hotel. I am a little nervous about that, but I got such a great rate on a car-less than the cab fare would be, so I will brave it!(has anyone ever tried hotwire.com-wow what a savings!) I would love to be included in any group meetings if someome has one planned, please e-mail me. Also, I am still looking for one extra ticket if anyone has one.
Thanks!
Julie
It's possible, with the bad weather, that someone in line will have an extra ticket. The official Bridges subscriber may have asked for two tickets and their guest backed out.
Yes, that's what I have been thinking. I would hate for someone to be disappointed and not get to make the trip due to the weather (myself included!! :)), but assuming we all make it there, we would love one extra ticket! We will have the cash on hand just in case! I also wonder how many people will be there?? I thought I read some where that they did not "sell out" because of the time of year this was being held and the risky weather conditions, many people did not want to commit.

The lady who called with my confirmation said it will be a maximum of 230 people. Wow, what a difference from 3600 at my first seminar (this one will be my 5th). I'm not complaining though, thats where I had my reading
