I'd like to toss out a few things being discussed elsewhere to get reader fedback here It concerns Sylvia Brown's medical information. Before going any further, I have no doubt that Sylvia and most other genuine mediums aren't medically intuitive or sensitive. John gets symptoms and says he puts out what he gets, often without even knowing what it is he is getting. Sylvia
on the other hand immediately and without any pause advised callers last night to:

have a fecal matter check -- to diagnose Epstein-Barr Virus. No...
unless she knows something nobody else knows, EBV cannot
by diagnosed in fecal matter.

said to get bilirubin enzymes checked - bilirubin is not an enzyme(s), it is a pigment found in hemoglobin which may also be processed in the liver

inferred a clot caused someone to die of cerebral hemorrhage. Its the other way round, survivors of hemorrhage often develop clot(s).

Another medical thing that worries some of us is Randi's remark that he'll consult his heart surgeon. Why would Randi have a heart surgeon unless he's had heart surgery? If so, was this publicly known and by Sylvia pointing this out, was she using
information she knew. When she mentioned the police officer and police department in NJ she was "working with," many did not know this officer was someone who was involved with Randi in a lawsuit and furthermore, has a serious axe to grind with him.

John says he gives what he gets, and there is no reason for a spirit who was not a medical person, to know any more than he or anyone else what tests to order or what the precise details of cause of death are. Of course if you get in a car accident or are shot through the head you're going to know this. What was suggested is that if Sylvia doesn't get diagnostic suggestions from spirit with that information, then how does she pass that on? She doesn't admit or say she gets it that way either. I dunno about most of you but this sorta concerned me...........

In making medical testing suggestions last night she was definitely incorrect or misled ..... or being misleading.

Any comments? Ideas?

Steve: In response to your post about medical/medium stuff. I felt like Sylvia's references were disjointed - I had trouble following her train of thought. I caught phrases during that reading as she was talking that didn't seem to relate to one another: she said that the person was suffering from fatigue, then mentioned the Epstein-Barr virus AND Candida which is when she suggested the fecal matter test and the bilirubin test.

I did find information in the following places
Epstein-Barr virus (http://www.health4her.com/library/concerns/epstein_barr_virus.cfm)
http://www.infosky.net/~alexmi/candida.htm#2.6
more on C. Albicans (http://www.health-truth.com/Articles/Candida/Candida1a.htm)
info on bilirubin (http://members.aol.com/chiaungo/profes/bilirubin.htm)

See next post.

I don't pretend to understand all of the above but I think it can be seen how all of the things Sylvia mentioned can be tied together even lthough she was wrong about bilirubin being an enzyme.

I think one of Sylvia's problems is - not explaining what she means - or maybe not being given enough time to explain - or maybe that isn't capable of explaining what she means. Perhaps she was just getting the messages about these seemingly unrelated things and just blurted them out as they came to her.

I'm not a doctor or anything close to it but as a medical typist I have come across these issues before. I don't know if this helps or not - or even if it is what you are looking for.

Note: I made a Word document of my entire post with the excerpts from the links above included. If you want to see it I guess I can find a way to attach it or something.

If they came to her, why didnt she say so. She hardly skipped a beat when she blurted them out although I agree she didnt have much time and appeared to be talking disjointedly.

I dont think she mentioned Candida albicans, a fungal or yeast infection also implicated in CFS along with EBV. EBV is extremely elusive, is not found in fecal matter but in blood.

I wrote elsewhere:
I know at least three mediums who feel
pain or discomfort in areas suffered by spirit or sitters and report
that as such. They do not elaborate as to etiology or diagnostic
procedures.

To which someone replied:
And why should they? If they're getting their information from the
deceased, they can get no more than the deceased knows. After
all, how many lay persons who die of illnesses know the technical
terms for their diagnoses? On the other hand, it's likely that folks
who die of gunshot wounds or other injuries would know what killed them.

I would have to agree with this. This is exactly how John works.
