Hi I’m Leonora an English fulltime housewife/parttime worker
I first started watching John Edward after my neurosurgery for Epilepsy(of all times) But I needed his message at the time because I have had a somewhat complicated life and as I suppose we all do when something major happens I was re-evaluating my life and wishing I had everyone I had everloved with me. Now I am also a bibliophile I love me books second hand one especially and England is full of eccentric second hand books.
Then I found some very old spiritualist books and I decided to study this ite deep fascinating subject and then I started to listen to Randi’s rants and suddenly realised why people of his ilk do not understand the subject. IT cannot be comprehended by narrow minded people . Studying this subjct has opened my eyes and expanded my mind.
Has anyone ever heard of Ena twigg?
    Albert best
    Nan mackenzie
    Steven o’Brien
    William Redmond
    Arthur findley

I never quite liked the presentation of james Van Praague/ His books however are excellent and I realise I have done him a disservice.

    Welcome, Leonora!

What are some of the Spiritualist books you have read? I’d love to hear more about them!
I’ve heard of Albert Best through books by UK mediums. Mostly in Gordon Smith’s books and maybe Linda Williamson’s if I remember right. Most of those I’ve had to order directly from the UK because the titles weren’t available here in the states. Arthur Findlay founded the college with his name, right? But that is the extent of my knowledge about him. :o
Have you been attending services/classes at Spiritualist churches?

I must second what Laura wrote. I was going to suggest those same ones and also you may like John Holland. He is from the US, but did much of his studies in the UK and is also very kind hearted and down to earth.

Again – glad you found us:wave:

Hello Lenora  hope you don’t mind if I just call you Lenore make it a bit easier for me. I have a friend here called Lenore for many many many years.

I am in South Australia, separated from my not so Darling Ex Husband. but that is a long winded story, I am a mum of 6 kids. sadly now down to 5 with the death of my eldest son 5 months ago,

What part of England are you in. I have family all over England, most in Nottingham, Derbyshire

I liked how to you refer to Randis Rants, LOL that pretty much sums it up, I have also had my rants with some of his cronies. They live such a sad existance. but I guess Randi will find out sooner rather than later what we speak of here. I like to listen to John Edward, and Allison Dubois I also believe that unfortuneatly there are a lot of shonks out there too, I am getting pretty good at picking them out too. I go by my intuitition a lot of the time. and it takes a bit of time for the Ah HA momnet to kick in.

I know what I know and I have had to learn to trust my own feelings about things.

forgot to add (must be my neuro surgery!) That most of my knowledge of spiritualism cones from a lot of 1950’s mediums. I like their very down to earth way of explaning things. They have a different style very dry and to the point very educational. have any of you heard of Bishop Pike? a controversial figure I believe in the 1950’s he went missing and Ena Twigg contacted him.

One of my 1950’s authors mentioned Raja Yoga it’s mind yoga. I found a book on it the other day again from one of my favourite second hand bookshops.Powerful stuff this raja yoga is I’ll tell you that much, It teaches a person to still the mind. I’m a ‘lancastrian’ (from lancashire now living in Maidstone Kent.

John Holland? Yeah I have one of his books. But for me the only one who seems to put it across directly and succinctly is Mr. Edward I Love love his style.

    Hi Leonora!

Am glad you found your new home away from home. There’s always a nice comfy chair, here, just waiting for you.

As for coverage of our elections, I can’t hardly imagine it could be heavier anywhere on earth than it is right here. Given that, if you really do have more coverage there than we do, you have my deepest apologies and sympathies.

Thank you all very much for all making me welcome.
I have to say though and please non of you take offence, that my plot of land that is England takes far to much notice of the affairs of America when we should be minding our own business and getting on with our own affairs. I am tired of the Uk slavishly following everyone else in the vain hope that it will make our electorate forget about our own problems and pathetic government. We are now to have knife scanners at the school gates! To stop the children bringing in knives.

ON another note has anyone heard of lesley Flint?
And have any of you had any NDE’s or psychic experiences?
I’d love to hear of ’em
