    Hi guys!

It looks like a bunch of you have received your texts and started reading already. We’re going to have a really great time together!

Since everyone knows about their Sun sign, I thought it would be fun for you guys to use this thread to post your personal view of what about your Sun sign fits you and what does not.

The purpose is to get you all warmed up and wondering WHY those neat little pre-packaged Sun sign descriptions really can’t tell the whole story. Very soon you guys will understand the subtle differences between classmates who happen to share the same Sun sign, while also being able to appreciate the common bond you share with your “Sun sign mates” as well.

I’ll get started since I know there are some Taureans in the group besides myself. I invite all of you to post a snippet of information you already know about your Sun sign and what about it applies/does not apply to you.

This exercise might become illuminating as you move forward in your studies and learn why you are not typecast into the complete role of your Sun.

Traditionally, Taurus is the most steadfast, practical and loyal sign in the zodiac. She is productive, patient and determined. She is calm and the rock everyone else leans on.

She is fixed in personality and does not change easily when it comes to anything! She is peace seeking, very physically tied to the earth and very sensual (the most sensual sign of the zodiac).

She can be materialistic in the sense that security is so important to her that she cannot function without knowing all of her material needs are taken care of, but she loves luxury as well. Money lessons are a constant in the Taurus life. One thing is for sure, she knows how to handle finances!

Values and self worth are the big Taurus life lessons. “I have” is the Taurus key phrase because possessions so often define her worth until she learns the deeper lesson of true inner self worth. Once she discovers this, nothing can threaten her security.

Basically, I am a Taurus through and through with one major exception. Taurus is known as the most patient sign of the zodiac. I am the most impatient, hot tempered woman you’d ever want to meet! The really big things in life I can wait for, but the little things like waiting for an elevator, or being put on hold drive me NUTS!:cuss: I always wondered where I was when the “patience” gene in Taurus was handed out. Until I discovered that the answers were clearly spelled out elsewhere in my chart…

Anyone else want to give it a go?

    ~Maria

:coffee: Good Morning, Maria. Well, let us see…..hmmmm….where to start? I am a Sagittarius and everyone knows that Sag’s are predisposed to “foot-in-mouth” disease…I did have this dreadful disease in my younger years but am quite cured at this point. (nothing like a good throttling to cure foot-in-mouth disease!!:redface3: )
They are known for their exuberance ( I have been known to need damage control ) and optimism ( never saw a dark cloud I did not like ).They are fickle in love ( you could not pry me away from the object of my affection with a crow bar !! I am devoted (scorpio moon) to the core if I feel the person is worthy of my love and time) and eternal students ( going back to school at 43 ) and ardent travelers physically and mentally ( can’t stand to be in one place too long and read voraciously! )
Did I say that Sag’s are animal and freedom lovers? ( currently have 2 dogs and a cat ( would like to have horses, a salt water aquarium and more dogs) and cannot stand to be told what to do, when to do it, where or why. ):D
All in all I would say that I have used my sun to my detriment. I have over expanded in too many areas…..4 children, 3 husbands, 2 bankruptcies and a partridge in a pear tree :musicnote ….whew!! I get tired just reading this!
    That was fun…or NOT!

I haven’t started the reading assignment yet, but I’m interested to see what fits and what doesn’t. Seriously, I just received my book this past Tuesday, that’s why I’m so late doing my “homework”…. Hey, it’s better than “my dog ate it”, right? :D

I can just see Maria now… :teacher:

Jamie, that was hysterical! Sagittarius is the luckiest sign of the zodiac did you know that? The question is, are they “lucky” because of their eternal optimism or does their optimistic nature come from the fact that when they are most down in the dumps some “lucky break” always seems to come?

You can thank your ruling planet, Jupiter, for all your optimism and love for travel and learning. And you say you love horses…Sagittarius rules large animals!

My Moon is in Sagittarius and I am quite biased towards those who have their Sun here…I never met a Sagittarius I didn’t like.

And the word Sagittarius is so beautiful…it means Wisdom.

And boy do I know about “foot in mouth disease”:redface3: My Moon has been guilty of that once or twice…lol

 why Jude, I don’t know what you’re talking about…:P

You’re not late Jude…you’re just a darling Libra…a procrastinator maybe? I love Libras too…we share what I call “the Venus connection” because both our signs are ruled by the same planet. We express it in two totally different ways though. Stay tuned…;)

Paula…I peeked at your chart and there is a very good explanation for why this aspect of Taurus does not fit your Sun sign personality. I won’t bother explaining it now cause it’ll sound Greek, but basically what I’m seeing is that you might have the “in one hand and out the other” issue when it comes to money.

But money lessons are a biggie for us, that’s for sure!

See we are all made up of the sum of our parts…can’t just label every Taurus as “such and such characteristic” without looking at the chart as a whole.

This is why I wanted to start this thread, to make everyone begin to see that the horoscope is a web made up of many, many threads. In correct interpretation you must be able to synthesize all the threads back into a complete whole (YOU)! But for our class, we have to first break it down into parts and understand the parts before we put it back together.

So basically, I’m breaking all of you down! LOL:wave:

I’m a Gemini with my sun in Taurus and my moon in Virgo. Saturn is the only planet in my house. I skipped ahead in the book to check out the traits it assigns to Geminis.

The headline says “Gemini, the Twins: Quick-Witted, Quicksilver. It also says, “How many Geminis does it take to screw in a light bulb? Two :)

Here are the many Gemini traits that I believe I have.

I do have a quest for knowledge and am usually in motion. I try to live as many lives as I can. I also have an avid curiosity about many things and do quickly move on when it’s satisfied. My thoughts are always darting from one subject to another. I love to talk and insert humor into my conversation when I think it will make my listener laugh. It comes easy for me. People will often walk away from me still laughing and that pleases me.

I adapt easily to any situation I find myself in. That came in handy in my childhood. My father was in the army and we moved frequently. Each move meant making new friends and a place for myself. Changes were a big part of my life and I adapted well to them.

I married a Scorpio and we had many differences. We still had 36 very good years together. His ideas of how to do things and my ideas often clashed. I managed to get him believing my ideas were better than his and we were both happy.

I know I am scatterbrained at times and mess up when trying to do too many things at one time. :stick: That will lead me to make mistakes and do and say things I don’t mean to do. My intent is never to hurt or harm anyone or anything but acting without thinking can get me in trouble. :(

Twins like to spend their money on information, computers, travel and cars, things that will feed their need for new idea, communication, movement and action. Twins are often found in sales positions or in other jobs where there is a lot of contact with other people.

Yes to both of them. I love travel, my computer, and my car. Too bad my car loves gasoline. :( My job, which I love, is working with the public in a public library. It gives me a lot of chances to talk and use my sense of humor.

Some strong aspects of my personality are: I am very generous with my time and money. It’s better to give than receive is a good motto for me. I have a very hard time turning down anyone who needs my help. My first thought when someone comes to me hurting or needy is what can I do for them. My own wants and needs will be put aside. I’ve been the girl scout leader, the school home room mother, the volunteer for church, and the get-together organizer for Friends on here to meet each other at John’s events. Loved doing it all.

I also have a huge love for animals, all of them. It breaks my heart to see any of them mistreated. Witnessing cruelity to helpless animals or people brings out the fury in me and I am usually very slow to anger. I’ll even go so far as to avoid stepping on an ant and will cringe and apologize to insects when I need to kill them. Flies get an “I’m sorry” from me as I swat them.

I’m an avid reader, and both an amateur writer and artist.

From what I just read about Geminis, it appears to be the sign that describes me well. Many of the traits I have are also found in the firstborn child in a family. I’m the first of 6 children.

I also used too many I’s in this post. :o

Maria, I thought that you had a Sag in there somewhere! You are so very upbeat and mentally agile! As for “luck”…. I guess you could say that ;to paraphrase an old Hee Haw song , “If it were’nt for bad luck I’d have no luck at all , Doom despair and agony on me”!
No…really…I think that Sag’s just cannot, by faith and nature, end up with the “short end of the stick”. I have, personally, hit rock bottom……bounced off the rock….surfaced to catch my breath, accumulate wealth, friends and knowledge….only to stumble over the cliff….hit rock bottom (for the thirteenth time)….bounce off of the rock…. Well, you get where this is going. I AM a very fortunate Sag…..or is it Sadge?( I do sag at my age.) Sadge sounds better.
Anyway, I am sooooooooooo glad that I am not the only person in this class with a history of “foot-in-mouth” disease! It is a very humbling disease.
    This is cathartic!

Hmmm..steadfast, practical and loyal? Yes, sometimes to my own detriment, lol. Once I am stuck on something…forget about it. Like a dog with a bone.

Productive, patient and determined? Yes, but along with that over the years I have also been known to have too many irons in the fire at once. It becomes hard to concentrate a lot of times because of that. Yes, everyone does lean on me…but I really don’t mind it:o Calm? USED to be, before kids, lol It’s still there..somewhere. Hope to find it again someday:D

I don’t change easily at all. I am peace seeking and strive for it in my life. Sensual? Yes…I enjoy all 5 physical senses very much.

Money is a constant issue in my life, always has been. It’s either feast or famine, lol I don’t need luxury, hey, I clip coupons and shop at walmart, lol, but I do need to know that I have everything that I need. Does that make sense? Also, I know how to handle finances but sometimes get caught up in procrastination/laziness in getting deadlines/due dates met on time.

    Cool thread, Maria!

Being a Virgo, I can say that almost everything Vigro describes me.

Practicality, analyzing and examing everything in great detail is definitely my gig.

The only thing is that my apartment is kinda messy. Not that I don’t want to clean it, I just don’t want to do anything after work.

I always THINK about it though and when I do get around to cleaning it, it’s cleaned to perfection.:D

    And Worry…

I worry about everything and everyone.

I’m the one who tells everyone to lock their doors, put on your seat belt, make sure everythings turned off before you leave the house and take your vitamins. That’s just a small sample…not including the big stuff like family, friends, politics and the ozone layer.:o

Virgo’s may be considered nit-picky but you can’t accuse us of not caring.
