How many Scorpio’s does it take to screw in a light bulb?
    None. They like dark.

“Although scorps might know everyone else’s heart of hearts, they’ll seldom reveal their own. When they do, though, they share a depth of passion no other sign can.” how true… lol

“When scorps are unhappy, though they head off to be alone, and heaven help if you disturb them! Scorps usually need and want time alone regularly to process their intense feelings. Without time alone it can be very hard for Scorps to maintain their sense of control. For this reason, scorps need their own hiding place at home, where no one else will bother them. this isnt just a corner in a room either, but an entire room that they can call their own.

How true!!! I am Scorpio thru and thru.
So far I haven’t read anything about Scorpio in the book that doesn’t fit.
As for the light bulb… I work at night – need I say more?:laff:

Virgo attributes that fit me: practicality, connection, finding patterns, calm on the outside-restless on the inside, problem-solver, servant, organized (but see below).

Attributes that don’t fit me: organized, self-improvement, needing order, liking to (or needing to) clean.

The interesting thing about my organization is that if you came to my home or my office, you would not instantly think “A Virgo lives/works here.” You’ll find piles of items, dust everywhere, an unmade bed, dishes in the sink (or on the counter). But, if you look closely, you’ll see that the books are collected and categorized by author and/or genre, if you observed my computer desktop each day, you’ll find that I have the same exact windows open in the same, exact order; a lot of my organized Virgo nature is hidden. Even the food on my plate is “organized” … each item kept separate and distinct from the other, in the same place relative to the other items.

I found this item also to be intriguing:

In Native American tribes, Virgin is represented by the spider, which weaves the sacred patterns in its web. This explains why many Virgins aren’t very comfortable in our present society, where these sacred patterns have largely been lost or forgotten.

    (p. 76) I generally hate killing spiders – have no problem killing other insects and arachnids, though. If I see a spider I’ll tell it it has to the count of 30 to get out of sight (you’d be surprised how many spiders heed this warning). As long as I can’t see them, they’re welcome to stick around. And, I certainly am someone who is not very comfortable in our society…

Maria, now that I’m home from work and had dinner, I’m re-reading this thread. Glancing at it between people coming up to my desk didn’t help at all. :D Reading your response and looking at my chart is clearing it up for me.

Astrology looks to me like a subject that someone with a good aptitude for higher math would have an easier time learning. I might have to struggle a little catching on to it. I did very well in math up until I over- reached my limit in trigonometry and solid geometry.

This student will do her best and no matter what, will know a lot more than I did.

It appears that I am the only Aries in the group so far. I have never felt connected to the info provided for this sign. I am not a take charge person, more the follower. I am not assertive, very shy is more like it. I am not impulsive with money. I rarely buy anything with out thinking about it forever. I am indecisive to a fault.

I haven’t had time so far to really start examining my chart, but my guess is that other elements within the chart are at work here. Gee, I feel stupid :redface3:

I am lookiing forward to learning and I thank you Maria and Pam for the opportunity.:hearts:

Carolyn, your description of the “messy” Virgo is actually quite common. Virgo does have a rap for being the most “anal” sign in the zodiac and this can be very true (my husband comes to mind:angel: ) BUT my father in law, born just 2 days before my husband is also a Virgo and he is the “messy” Virgo type. Just like your environment, we all perceive his “space” whether it be at home or at work as very cluttered and disorganized. However he has organization among all his disorganization! When you think about it, this method really is quite Virgoan in nature…Virgo’s job is to analyze and discriminate and then order. You have analyzed your personal situation and made the discrimination about what you feel is worth working on most in your life and that is what you spend your energy keeping an order to.

It’s interesting how you say your Virgoan nature is “hidden”. Isn’t your Sun locked away in the 12th house? Hmmmmm very interesting…

And by the way, your spider reference is fascinating to me! My husband and father in law don’t believe in killng spiders. I hear Al all the time tell the kids that “if you see a spider leave it alone because they are good for the house”.
Just thought I’d let you know you’re not alone in Virgo Spider land! :D

Gail, I have a secret to tell you. SSSHHHH Don’t tell anyone ok?

I failed math.:o Yep. It was always my worst subject and my skin crawls whenever I think about studying math or taking math tests.

In my freshman year of college, I clearly recall a math final. It was one of those classes with about 200 students in them. Well, I freaked out during the final and when I went up to give the professor my exam (which I knew I bombed on), panic shot through me and I began crying to the professor – in front of the whole class!:tissue:

My math demons have haunted me all my life and it almost prevented me from taking my certification course. Fortunately, I had enough passion about the subject matter to decide the demons were worth revisiting and during my correspondence course, I *happened* to be assigned an advisor who was extremely gifted in coaching me through the math. As soon as I was finished learning all the math required for the course, he retired from the school. It was as if we had a “soul contract” for him to walk me through my worst academic fear. We probably did.

Fast forward to 2006 and now I have a son in 1st grade. This is addition and subtraction folks…maybe a few fractions. Do you know how much I hate doing math homework with him and helping him study for a test? All of a sudden I’m that young girl again, clueless about math formulas and petrified that math would be my undoing in life! Shheeesshhhh I hope my kids got Al’s math DNA – he’s the left brained one in our family for sure!

Point is, don’t let anything about a subject intimidate you if you truly have a desire to learn about it. If I had let math intimidate me, I’d have missed out on learning the most beautiful language God ever created – Astrology.

    Love,
    Maria:hearts:

    Maria,
Thank you for being so nice and positive! Actually, thank you everyone on this site and in this class for being so nice and positive. I was worried (as usual) when I first posted something as I don’t know anyone yet, but you are all very kind. I feel fortunate to be in this class.

Kaydy please don’t feel stupid! This is a new language you’re all learning here. How long does it take to become fluent in a second language?

You are actually right on target when you say that other elements are at work in your chart. At first glance, your chart would seem to anyone like the chart of a dynamo – a super assertive, confident woman who knows what she wants and isn’t at all timid in obtaining it. With 4 planets in Aries including the Sun, Mercury, Venus and Jupiter you should be somewhat of a “super Aries”.

BUT all we need to do for you is look opposite all those Aries planets in your chart and a red flag appears. Your Moon is in Libra along with Neptune and Saturn in Libra. This is the sign opposite Aries and it says so much about why you are not able to freely express all the Aries that you really do possess.

The ruler of your Aries Sun, the planet Mars, was retrograde (or moving backwards) at birth. Retrograde planets turn the energy inward – making it difficult for you to express it to the world. Of course you’re afraid to assert yourself and your energy…God forbid your Libra Moon would compromise its need for social acceptance and approval – its need for harmony and peace at all costs – even at the expense of SELF (Your Sun in Aries)

You have a dynamic and exact Sun opposition to your Moon – an aspect that makes it very difficult to find any sort of peace. And all that comes from early child hood experiences that led to the crushing of your ability to express yourself.

It is more comfortable for you to silently implode than express your will and your amazing leadership qualities. In your case they were thwarted long ago and it’s more peaceful in your instinct to keep them out of bounds rather than embrace and work with the Arian energy you possess in such powerful abundance.

All of these patterns in your horoscope – and your life – can be dealt with by learning to harness the energy contained within you. You can learn to work with your blocks of energy and channel them into a whole new level of awareness.

This class is going to teach you to isolate and identify what each of your Arian planets have the potential to bring to the expression of your personality. I believe that by the time this class is over, you will have an eye opening understanding of how it is possible for you to access your Aries side.

This is how the magic happens through astrology. THIS is what I mean by Grow into Your Soul folks!

Awww Tinker…we’re glad to have you aboard. You know Ms. Aquarius, one of the planets that rules your Sun is Uranus (Saturn is the other). Among other things, Uranus rules astrology and astrologers.

You will do VERY well in this class so don’t be shy about opening your mouth. I peeked at your chart and you have alot of additional aspects that can lead you to do this professionally at some point if you so desire. You will find astrology resonating very strongly with you – that’s for sure.

Have fun – I have a feeling this is only the tip of the iceberg for you!

:hmm: The more I read this thread the better it gets. Wow! I can’t wait to get into it, with all the things I am learning now just by reading through everyones comments and Maria’s replies I can just imagine how much we are gonna learn in the class!!! I too want to say thanks so much to Pam and Maria and everyone else in this class for the chance to improve my self on this journey. It seems like the older I get the more I feel the “need” to learn more about what I didn’t believe in when I was younger for various reasons.

So much of what you said ( in fact ALL of it ) is so very true. Fascinating to say the least !!!

I grew up with the ” don’t make waves, children are to be seen but not heard, keep the peace no matter what, don’t call attention to yourself, etc ” rules . Guess I learned those rules too well.:hmm: But it is getting harder , the older I get,( 54 ) to continue to suppress some of those Aries traits. :laff:

I felt a real connection to this line in your reply to me……” God forbid your Libra Moon would compromise its need for social acceptance and approval – its need for harmony and peace at all costs – even at the expense of SELF “

Thanks for all the insight, I am soooo looking forward to ” growing into my soul” I really love that line. ;)

In some ways, Aries describes me very well, but in others, I’m much more – keep the peace, seeing all sides, indecision, etc. And I can speak up on someone else’s behalf, but not my own. Go figure.

Kaydy, I think you and I were born just a few weeks apart, going by what you said. Those same words could be me (except for the spending money part, drat it). And Maria’s post about your chart – it almost seemed as if she was looking at mine!

For a long time, I had a hard time with anger, learning the hard way that I’d best keep it to myself rather than let it out. They say that when you learn things “the hard way” you learn ’em for keeps.

I’m looking forward to the class (thank you, Maria)

    hugs,
    Nan

    Nan –

Yes, you and Kaydy were born 13 days apart – in the same year. You will have some interesting similarities, but as you will soon learn, you are actually expressing your similar energy patterns in very different ways. Plus, not all of your patterns are the same (even a twin could have a different chart!).

You have the Neptune and Saturn in Libra opposite your Aries planets. Libra energy in aspect to your Aries Sun will certainly make it difficult for you to “own your fire” but I hope that you will, with time, learn how to balance this energy and obtain awareness from its conflict in your life.

I don’t know how you chose your screen name, but I have to tell you, it really is meaningful from the perspective of your difficulty claiming your Aries Sun!

    Enjoy the class:wave:
