I’m bumping this thread to give all my new beginner’s students easier access to introduce themselves to our astrology student community and the friendscommunity in general.
So…what’s your sign?:hearts:September 14, 2006 at 12:43 am #108550
Im Gina/ Caliel… My sign is Gemini.
Looking forward to the class.
Everything about a Gemini just about rings true with me!

Welcome to the class Gina and thanks for sharing!
I hope others follow suit and offer some insight into their Sun sign. Don’t be shy…I know you’re out there!;)September 16, 2006 at 9:07 pm #108581
I’m a scorpio true and true. Actually it is very strong sign in my chart. I know I’m extrememly loyal when I finally give my heart to someone. Many times going well over and above what a ‘normal’ person may give. I too alwayws analyze everything. I look for the reasons behind the behavior. For some reason, it’s important for me to understand. I always need to understand the why’s when I can.
However, I’m also very emotional as per water signs….sometimes when I get soooo emotional I physically make my self sick. Whereas, my body will become sick to I guess pull me back and make me make time to rest and “let go” in a sense?
And for Twinky to post working nights…Wow!!! By nature I am a night owl. I’m up at night and sleep during daylight. I thought it was the vampire in me! This is when I’m not working and on a schedule (like now). It’s my natural rhythem. Whereas, my mom who is a Scorp., but at the beginning of Nov., she gets up and wakes the birds up. Her natural rhythem. But again, I seem to hold more of the Scorpio triats than she does. Unless her mask is thicker than mine.
I read the assignment, but should re-read it. I jumped a little ahead and then stopped because I didn’t want to confuse myself if I were to interpret something wrong. Looking foward to this class. As for doing others birth charts, wouldn’t we also need their time of birth?

Thanks for posting your thoughts about being a Scorpio. To answer your question about other birth charts – in the beginner’s class you won’t be interpreting a full birth chart for a few weeks – only bits and pieces. Don’t worry, all the assignments will be explained to you as they come up. And when it’s time to tackle a full birth chart, yes, you will need the exact birth time in order to construct the correct natal wheel with correct rising sign.
I’m happy you decided to stop yourself from jumping ahead. I know the temptation is enormous because you want to know everything at once, but trust me astrology needs to be eaten slowly – in bite size pieces – or else you might get stomach pains trying to digest it.;)
Welcome to the class and to the astrology student family here at friendscommunities! Looking forward to Wednesday!:hearts:September 19, 2006 at 6:12 pm #100099
Sorry I’m a little behind. Some kind person at the library dropped off a boatload of wicked, wicked colds. Been pretty much sick for the last week. Guess I’ll catch up a little rght now.
I’m a Taurus with Gemini rising and I pretty much agree with what you said except for one thing. The money thing. I tend to ignore it. Like it’s a waste of my time to get excited about it. It’s always been like that from little on. Paper is paper and coins are just little flat bits of metal. Now semi-precious gems and stones. Those I like a whole lot. That part fits liking the pretty stuff trait.
I will see you tomorrow night after choir at church.
Have a wonderful day!September 23, 2006 at 2:26 am #108701
Hello All
I am so mad that I missed the chat last night! Maria I think it is great you left your previous classes discussion on their sun sign I learned so much already.
Saggittarius are know to be seekers of challenges…..I think my whole life I tend to take the tough curvy path just to prove that I can.
Saggituarius is the sign of philosphy & higher learning which I love to read and learn but I tend to lose interest fast then 6 months laters I dive back in till I get bored it is a circle till I completed my goal
One thing that doesn’t fit is how Sags are excellent story tellers….I can’t even tell a joke let alone a story :o)
Well I can’t wait for the next Chat. I will be more active from this point forward.

Hi guys – I just wanted to make this thread a temporary sticky for all new students coming in January to have a place to introduce yourself and talk about the one part of astrology we all know a little bit about…the Sun sign!
What about your Sun sign fits you? What doesn’t?
You’ll soon discover why this is the case. We are so much more than our Sun, and yet the Sun is extremely important in the horoscope. It is a symbol for all we are trying to become in this lifetime.
Welcome and make yourself at home in our safe and friendly environment! :hearts:December 20, 2006 at 5:26 am #113389
Wow its scary being first
but here it goes…
I am a Pisces. Yes im extremely sensitive, secretive, and i absorb the feelings of others like a sponge does water. I am totally an escapist when it comes to dealing with problems, retreating into my own little world of dreams and secret fantasies. However, it doesn’t last that long because unlike my sun sign, i am a hardworker who likes to ‘nip things in the bud’. And also contrary to my sun sign, i can be quite decisive. The only times when i am indecisive is when i am around a special person/loved one and can sense what they are really thinking/feeling, so despite my feelings, i go along with what they feel is comfortable. Ahh that probably doesn’t make sense >>’;; but i tried. I am not too good at explaining things to others. Well okay i hope to learn more about pisces, the other signs, and also the other components of my chart. Okay now that i have done the first post, i hope more people follow!:clap:December 20, 2006 at 1:34 pm #113396

Aimee welcome aboard and thanks for jumping in – I hope the others will come along as well! Feel free to post your birth information in our student data base if you’d like a chance to be featured in an upcoming “student of the week” exercise!
Ahhhh you are a sensitive one indeed! Pisces Sun in the 12th house along with a Cancer Moon – I can see how you wear your heart on your sleeve. And you are a SuperPisces if I ever saw one – Sun, Mercury and Jupiter in Pisces – Whoa!!!
But look at this folks, Aimee has Aries Rising! She is by no means a weak woman! I can see how this will provide assertive energy in your chart to make you both decisive and hard working. The ruler of your Ascendant Aimee is Mars and you have Mars in Sagittarius in the 9th. You certainly are capable of asserting your opinions and beliefs!
If you have no idea what I’m talking about don’t worry. In 5 weeks you’ll understand this and soooooo much more. Glad to have you here!:hearts:December 20, 2006 at 1:44 pm #113399
 Hi Aimee! Welcome to our corner of the world of astrology! oooo Cancer Moon … I empathsize – me too! :hearts: When I first saw you post I wondered what your rising sign was and certainly Aires rising’ll give you gumption! :clap:December 21, 2006 at 3:30 am #113428
Hi, my name is Catherine, a.k.a. andIsmile. I am a Gemini, the sign of the Twins and I do feel like two people, at times.
You could say my middle name is “change”! There are times I can have a wonderful conversation and other times I love to just listen to everyone, else. I can go with the flow or debate the tide. I see things that others do not in a situation. I am quick to help others, and slow at taking care of myself. I stretched myself to the breaking point in the summer of 2005. I’ve been on an ever changing spiritual journey this past year that has been awesome. The things I’ve seen and felt have brought about wonderful insights. I received my Reiki attunement on July 6, 2006, so I am, now, 100% starperson! (Check earth angel thread for more info.) I am a big Doreen Virtue fan. I’ve read all her books. Well, most of them completely… and I smile.
I tend to have several projects going at the same time. This includes reading more then one book at a time. All these can go for months unfinished.
There is so much more I could say, but it would be eaiser for you to just read about me by reading the Gemini info in the text book… and I smile.
I’m looking forward to the class and getting to know everyone better.

My name is Laura and I am one of those crazy, quirky aquarians! I absolutely love meeting and interacting with new, interesting people. I love having deep conversations and trying to figure out how we can make this world a better place. I really do live in my head, intellectualizing just about every new thought and emotion I experience. But I also overanalyze EVERYTHING and tend too worry way too much (I think my Gemini rising has a bit to do with this.) I have been told that I can be very aloof and detached when I want, but little do people know, I am actually VERY sensitive and emotional (Pisces moon is to blame!) from time to time. I know they say aquarians are humanitarians, and, while I do care a great bit about humankind, I must admit that I harbor a much deeper passion for the environment, as well as the animals that inhabit it. My interests include knitting, yoga, astrology, sewing, quilting, making jewelry, ultimate frisbee, hiking, camping, running, crocheting, school, thrift shopping, and most all, partying and just having a good time! I am sooooo excited about this course and can’t wait to broaden my knowledge on one of the most interesting topics there is. :]
