Here’s a news story about how photographers are helping parents cope with the loss of a child. I heard about this group of volunteers when they first started out. What an amazing gift for these families. :angel2:March 5, 2008 at 5:34 pm #121592CarolynBModerator

Thank-you so much Laura for posting this. Back in 1991 when my hubby and I suffered the loss of our little girl(Robyn) we were so thankful for the hospital staff who took pictures of our Robyn for us. They also gave us her hand/foot prints. At the time my hubby and I did not take our own pictures we expected to beable to bring her home and that there would be lots of time for pictures. Well that did not happen and our little girl crossed over at one week old. I cherish those pictures each and everyday and have her hand/foot prints in a frame. This is such a wonderful thing these volunteers are doing:hearts: :hearts:

Thank you so much for sharing the link Laura. :tissue::tissue::tissue:
This story was in our local newspaper a few days ago with pictures. The video really brings it even closer to home.
Here is the official website.
Please let the home page load to see the pictures. They are very deep, and very touching. These little children, look so peaceful, as if sleeping. The family members around the children, Moms and Dads are so touching and warming.March 6, 2008 at 2:43 pm #121603

Leigh, just wanted to say you have inspired me to apply to be a volunteer photographer for this organization. Haven’t heard anything yet but started doing research just in case they accept me. I came across this slideshow and thought it was so beautiful… :tissue: :tissue: :tissue: ISpokeWithMyChildMarch 7, 2008 at 4:50 am #121612
Awww ((Laura)) What an incredible woman you are,:angel2: I truely hope I get the oppurtunity to meet ya so I can give ya a big Hug:love: I got to thinking about how much more difficult it would have been to not have & hold those photos. And I imagine many parents walk away without that precious picture. This is a huge thing you’ve decided to do. Wow I’m speechless. Please keep me posted as you find out more details. I can imagine as it would be a very fullfilling oppurtunity it would play heavy on the heart aswell.
Ok sending hugs all the way from Ottawa to Lillydale
