Wonderful news from Houston! :tissue: (Tears of joy!)
God has definately heard your prayers! Heard from Marcia and the Grogans are back home from Houston. The tumor has shrunk SO much that the doctors at the Mayo clinic are thinking he may not have to have ANY form of amputation!!!!!   They are going to trying one more round of Chemo and see if the tumor continues to shrink… if so they will be doing a bone graft that will allow Matthew to save his leg completly!
SO…. PRAY, PRAY, PRAY AND PRAY SOME MORE!
GOD IS SO GREAT!November 10, 2006 at 10:35 pm #111321

:tissue: Oh, what a Thanksgiving:clap: (((MATTHEW & FAMILY))):musicnoteNovember 17, 2006 at 7:37 pm #111786
Matthew is back home and has made it through his first surgery. He is doing well and as you see from his photo… he is all smiles!
His attitude and determination are incredible. They will be returning for his fifth round of chemo hopefully over the weekend with plans to be back home for Thanksgiving.
The next step will be December 12th in which they will determine if the Llizarov has done it’s job. Hopefully they will be able to do the bone graft at that time and be able to save his leg. If not they will proceed with the rotation plasty. SO…. send your thoughts and prayers his way! :love:November 17, 2006 at 7:51 pm #111787

I know it will be a very Happy Thanksgiving for you and Matthew and his family this year for sure!:candle:December 10, 2006 at 7:23 pm #112875I wanted to give everyone an update on the Matthew. They received a call from the surgeon who confirmed that the CT scan looked great and they will proceed with the Vascularized Fibular Intercalary Bone Graft. They are heading down to Houston on Wednesday, and Matthew will have the surgery on Thursday. They should be down there for about a week and be back before Christmas. It will still be a long recovery with chemo continuing through next summer, but the prognosis looks hopeful.
Thank you so much for all of your prayers! They are working miracles!
