July 10, 2007 at 1:13 pm #119152marciaParticipantSo sorry to hear that Carolyn.
My dad is a kidney transplant recipient and it can make such a difference. I pray if Alicia’s match is out there for her, that the transplant goes well for her and changes her life for the better.Marcia
April 14, 2010 at 4:15 pm #123593CarolynBModeratorMy cousin, Alicia, got the call today for her lung transplant! Please say a prayer for her, and consider signing up to be an organ donor.

Organ and tissue transplants offer patients a new chance at healthy, productive, normal lives and return them to their families, friends and communities. You have the power to change someone’s world by being a donor. It’s about living. It’s about Life.April 14, 2010 at 6:17 pm #123594Paula MaeParticipantThats awesome news for Alicia! xoApril 17, 2010 at 11:37 am #123596CarolynBModeratorThanks for the prayers, Paula and Leigh!:hearts: I’ve been posting regular updates on Facebook. She’s resting comfortably and they hope to close her up today after having to wait for her other organs that have moved up when her own lungs had shrunk to move back down again. She has warm feet for the first time in 4 years!:hearts:

April 20, 2010 at 12:24 am #123602CarolynBModeratorUpdate on Alicia: The last update on Alicia was her breathing was down to 15 breaths per minute (which is where they want it) but it was too shallow still. She has been really laboring so they turned the vent back on. When she can take deep breaths at 15 breaths per minute then they will take out the vent. I think she is just used the breathing shallow and fast because she had such small lungs.
Thanks for the continuing prayers! :hearts:
