Quotes from Pinocchio (1940): Jiminy Cricket: What does an actor want with a conscience anyway?
Pinocchio: Father, what are you crying for?
Geppetto: Because you’re dead, Pinocchio.
Pinocchio: No! No, I’m not.
Geppetto: Yes. Yes, you are. Lie down.
picks up Jiminy
Jiminy Cricket: Put me down!
Pinocchio: He’s my conscience. He tells me what’s right and wrong.
Lampwick: What? You mean to tell me you take orders from a grasshopper?
Jiminy Cricket: “Grasshopper”?
Jiminy Cricket: You buttered your bread. Now sleep in it!
The Blue Fairy: Now, remember, Pinocchio, be a good boy. And always let your conscience be your guide.
The Blue Fairy: A lie keeps growing and growing until it’s as plain as the nose on your face.December 18, 2005 at 6:41 pm #102350

My Grandma was a woman of immense inner strength. She lived thorough the Great Depression, worked full time and raised 5 children. She had a whole bunch of little quotes she used to use all the time. Among her favorites:“In simplicity lies charm”
“To HAVE a friend, you’ve got to BE a friend”
*sigh*…as I get older I really appreciate her wisdom more :hearts:April 12, 2006 at 4:41 pm #104104
Sometimes, all it takes for some great wisdom is to listen to a smart butt section leader…
“Keep your eyes on the stars. Your feet on the ground. And a roll of DUCT TAPE by your side.”
“There’s nothing in the world that can’t be fixed with either sex, chocolate, or duct tape.”

“It’s not so much that we’re afraid of change.. or so in love with the old ways.. but it’s that place in between that we fear . . . . it’s like being between trapezes. It’s linus when his blanket is in the dryer.
There’s nothing to hold on to.”
I’m not sure who that is by—my cousin had said that to me. I find this quote to be really profound.May 5, 2006 at 7:26 pm #104714
On the subject of positive thinking and speaking, it’s not enough to simply refrain from being negative. Instead, we should strive to be positive in what we think and say.
I thought this (below) was a powerful statement. I’m not sure if Osteen should get the credit, but I hadn’t seen it anywhere else before.
