I E-mailed a letter to Scifi last night in reference to the CBS change, and got an instant reply. They said that because of the volume of mail they receive, they are unable to answer individual E-mails. So there is one “brick wall”. I just wonder why they supply an E-mail address if they can’t answer. I hope they at least read them. The address I E-mailed to was: program@http://www.scifi

What you received was a standard automated email response. Most companies have them these days. Then there is Crossing Over with no email address. That’s OK. It just shows the high level of integrity JE has.

Iften you can find CEO and COO’s email addresses in the company history or investor relations link on a website. Think like an investor.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think Sci-Fi has anything to do with where CO is shown, which network or which time. That would be in competition with them.

    Thanks,
    AuntJeannie

You’re right AuntJeanne, SCIFI has nothing to do with the CBS decision to move John to a late time slot. CBS purchased the rights to air the show and has the final decision on when it airs.

SCIFI is not connected to CBS in any way, and purchased the rights, just like CBS did.

For folks in Connecticut….again..this is Ct ONLY

I called Channel 8 WTNH….Spoke to Programming and actually got a LIVE person.

They are moving C/O to their UPN Sister station…WCTX
One epi will be at 400 the other at 730.

Before asking her why, I thanked her for aleast carrying the show somewhere….and that I can certainly appreciate how difficult it is to juggle around a fall line.

    Here is her explaination

Lynn Communication (they own both stations) had corporate commits and that is why C/O was moved. Also, that John “EDWARDS”( as she called him) wasnt doing too well in the ratings. She said that some parts of Fairfield Country wont receive it at all because of how the cable system works there and that direct TV customers wont be get the sister station yet.

She then said that this move HELPS John more than it hurts him. She said that its better than being somewhere then nowhere.

Then she said that she saw the NEW show he did …..that “John realizes that he had to revamp the show to do better in the rating and he did change it and it looks better”

I wanted so bad to tell her that I am sure that he revamped the show to assist in the process and not “JUST FOR RATINGS” but I resisted. I didnt want to sound like I was preaching.

Then she said that she felt that they did good to viewers like me by at least keeping him on somehwhere for folks who “LIKE THIS KIND OF ENTERTAINMENT”
I almost bit my tongue off.

    She then wished John well.
“I met John EDWARDS” she said “He seems like a nice enough guy’
I said….”Yes he does send alot of comfort to alot of people”

Dead silence on the other end….
I was opening the door …hoping she would ask how to why but she didnt bite…
    Finally she said
“is there anything else I can help you with”
I paused. I wanted so bad to get into it with her. but I saw a big stop sign and decide to go the other way ..and thanked her for her time and told her that perhaps mid season programming could change this….Couldnt it?

    She said ” Highly unlikely”

I wished her well and thanked her.

Looks like it is letter writing time….Not because of the time change or the station change……but it occurs to me that there are some folks in programming that dont realize that folks like me dont see this as just ENTERTAINMENT..(yes the show is entertaining….dont misunderstand what I am saying)….there is just a deeper message here for me as a viewer…..it seems the higher ups in TV dont understand that…:(

I guess TV is alot like the Radio world I came from….ratings generate dollars which keep the station going and corporations have to keep promises and deals to keep the higher ups happy.

I only hope that this gal at Channel 8 will somehow see John’s show more than entertainment..I guess the “higher ups” in MY WORLD… know that I get that message …..and that is all that matters.

    Hugs

RE:::for folks who “LIKE THIS KIND OF ENTERTAINMENT”
I almost bit my tongue off.

Hey…not to worry. We are miles ahead of these type of folks, and that should give satisfaction to all of us.

Someday, they will find out what this “entertainment” is……………..we already know.

(Almost like studying the cave man, eh?)

    God bless ’em all!

I believe we are beginning to understand the frustration that John had in his early days dealing with these folks. You may recall that in Crossing Over (the book) he even has a section where he asks “do producers have souls?” LOL

I think that what everyone is doing to help let the stations know your dissatisfaction with their programming is VERY important. Also, continueing to advance the message and share the show with folks around the country is vital to continueing the viewership. I am grateful that here where I live, we get both the Sci Fi and syndicated versions daily, so if the one isn’t convenient, I can catch the other. (of course I am now in the habit of taping all 4 episodes each day as well!)

Keep up the vigil folks. You CAN make a difference! I would however also recommend taking John’s advice. Develope a Zen-like attitude about this….if the show is meant to continue, a little time slot change won’t stop it. Good will prevail!

As someone who actually works in the “media business” , I pray that JE will make UPN in my area a ton of money and be the highest rated program in it’s time slot. CO will prevail, JE will prevail….for one reason only, JE is very, very high on the integrity scale.

When I see the ratings I’ll let all of you know.

    God Bless,

Just realized today that they were planning a change here in DC as well. I have been receiving the daytime syndicated show on the paramount channel. Today when it was time I switched to the channel and it wasn’t there. When I checked tvguide.com it said it will be on CBS now at 10 and 10:30 am. It used to be on at 1 and 1:30 pm. This works even better for me and now I may not even have to tape it, but of course I will so I will always have my CO whenever the fancy strikes!

I live in Cleveland and NBC airs CO here at 12:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Dr. Phil, in all his wisdom, is replacing John at 5:00 p.m. I e-mailed WKYC (NBC affiliate) and asked when he would be on. Got no answer. (So who’s surprised about that). Anyway, I may have missed a few posts, but I’ve not seen NBC mentioned in any of them as the network that airs John — only CBS. Are there any other Northern Ohio people who watch John on NBC? You guys heard anything?

    Thanks,
    Pudgybuster

    Sandy,
In Dallas , CO is moving from CBS from 3-4 (CST) to UPN on September 16th . It’s really unusual for it to go from the Paramount channel to CBS. You might check to see what is happening on Sept . 16. Looks like lots of changes will be made.

    Thanks,
    AuntJeannie

    Aunt Jeannie,
Thanks, tv guide.com only goes up until Sept. 16. I have no idea what will happen after that. Today was the first day CO was not on UPN. I thought I was safe when everybody started posting about CBS changing the time slot. Now it is on CBS. weird.

We know John does not do CO for the ratings, but on the other hand we won’t get to watch it unless the ratings are good! Does anyone know how CO has been doing on Sci-Fi lately?

It took some searching but my Crossing Over moved from 5 pm on Fox to 10am on a CBS affiliate. That will be a better watching time for me. SCIFI remains the same 11-12 pm.
