I purposely did NOT watch Long Island Medium when it came out. I caught a bit of one episode where she was was ragging on her daughter for making a mistake on her appointments and I thought “I can do without the personal drama” and stopped watching.
But something drew to me to start watching again and I was hooked. She reminds me of my east coast girlfriend, Nancy, who is from a huge Bronx Italian family, loud, full of life, loves to laugh.
I DV’d all the episodes and started watching the in order. Well let me tell you I am hooked. I love her bubbly, loud personality. I love that she still gets completely freaked by some of the validations.
So what do you think? Do you like it, love it, hate it, don’t care? What do you think of the her? What do you think of the show? :DNovember 6, 2012 at 11:29 am #123696CarolynBModerator
Hmmm, I have to confess I haven’t watched for the same reason you initially did. Didn’t need the personal drama. Will reconsider! Thanks for the tip, Pam … :clap:November 9, 2012 at 2:19 pm #123697BelieverParticipant
I watched in the beginning and thought the show to be kinda odd. I’m not used to a medium putting most of their life on display in all kinds of situations. It seemed loud and tacky at first. I confess, I too stopped watching.
Recently, I began watching again. Something seems to have changed and I’m not sure exactly what. Maybe, it’s because theres more involvement with her family. They seem very tight. I enjoy her interaction with them. She and her family seem very happy and it radiates outward. It makes her crazy, loud and fun personality more believable.
I especially like the episode where she and her father go fishing. He is frightened of her abilities and makes no bones about it. She would like for him to be a little more accepting but she doesn’t hold it against him or punish him for being himself.November 11, 2012 at 7:52 pm #123698
Oohhh no spoilers, I haven’t seen all the episodes, LOL!
I think it shows that mediums are just people who put their pants on, one leg at a time. It’s nice to see her freak out in elevators, get p.o’d at her kids and completely surprised herself at some of the validations. I like that she wears her heart on her sleeve about her own short comings and the things she’s working on spiritually.April 2, 2013 at 2:08 pm #123815
