So True, I have one “physical” friend that I drive nuts with this kind of stuff. She once said,”I don’t know how you can call them friends, when you don’t even know their names.” I simply replied, “I know their hearts. Isn’t that where a true friend comes from?” (Thank God for that moment of insight) She was speechless. I still get a roll of the eyes every once in a while, but I can handle that. No problem.

Uh oh, my screen saver is JE’s picture!![/Quote]

I have several JE pictures that I rotate as the wall paper on my computer at work. It took the nurses about 3 weeks before one finally asked me who it was. Hummmm…I wonder if she is wishes she had kept her mouth shut. I was just waiting for someone to open the door.

    OR

You’re going to the movies with these same friends and they ask you to invite this Pam person you keep talking about.

Sandra:D (Ooooooh, she’s talking about those board people again.)

*tapping foot* I’m waiting *arms crossed*

I highly recommend “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” for anyone who is Greek or Italian, or just knows anyone who is either :)

WOW! That’s a good one! I’m going to have to remember that one. I wonder if this board has “guides” and they were there to give that one to you just for our own good? ;)

Since I posted on this thread way back in 2001, I got an email telling me someone had replied to it. I couldn’t believe it had been resurrected, but I was so glad because it is so uplifting to laugh and laugh and ROFL.

Naomi’s grocery store quote is tops, but I’ve quoted a couple others that really hit home with me.

when you stand up to take a break and you can’t feel your butt. (unfortunately for some of us… its still there)

    Thanks Hazeleyz

It is so funny when I talk about meeting JE friends at seminars and I only give user names:

“You’re in the middle of telling friends in the “real world” about someone in your life who was recently featured on your favorite TV show and notice how strangely they’re suddenly looking at you. You ask what’s the problem and they respond with…”Who the h*ll is doodledink?”

Here’s a somewhat serious reason that I know I am spending a lot of time on this board: I feel like I’ve known some JE friends for a very long time, although I’ve only been on line since 2000.

I really like the quote: I don’t know how you can call them friends, when you don’t even know their names.” I simply replied, “I know their hearts. Isn’t that where a true friend comes from?” (Thank God for that moment of insight) She was speechless. Terry

And yes I do think we are guided to this site. Those of us who stay and share and teach and learn and grow and…..laugh are all here for a reason.
I must thank BobL for starting this thread, too.

    Pooh,
You are so right! There are no coincidences, right? Not in my book anymore. I am so glad I found this place, people and knowledge. It was great to meet you in J’ville, Pooh!!

I know I mention this a lot, maybe too much, but I try to stay with my feelings in accordance to my natural reaction (gut feelings). I just know I was meant to be connected with with friends on this board!

One of my biggest downfalls is a lack of skills in communication, and since I started meditating it is the main area where I’ve been asking for help. Because I listen to the meditation tapes & watch my tapes of CO so much I’ve found that words and phrases that John uses all the time are creeping into my vocabulary. I teach line dancing and getting steps through student’s heads can sometimes be very frustrating & so I’m inclined, like JE, to get a little ‘antsy’. My husband tells me that it’s not what I say but the way that I say it. Last week I said to them ‘Oh, come on you guys!’ (I stopped short of ‘you must know this!’) but I have a horrible suspicion that one of these days I’m going to say ‘You’re giving me that face, that’s a big no-no with me!’

Being a newbie I just found this thread, took awhile to read as many as I could, but it was worth it…tooo funny! I just told my hubby about the grocery store one, and he said “Knowing U, I can just see U doing it next”!….:D

The dye on the hair totally cracked me up also, as I have been on the phone and forgot about it, sure does make for a VERY clean scalp!!…..;)

I am so glad I stumbled upon this, it certainly gave me a few good laughs, and I think my leg just fell asleep, maybe here too long????………..:)

Since we have a lot of new members and everyone will have time to look through some of the older posts during the break, I’m bumping up one of the funniest and favorite threads of mine. I’ve had this addiction right from the first time I found this site. :D

You start referring to all other emails as either “

    you guys are hilarious! thank you so much for bumping this up…. how about you have only been registered for 5 days and you already know what bump is??

it took some time but it was well worth it. i think JE would get the biggest laugh out of those. and just when i needed it !! its a good thing i have a newborn because i laughed so hard…well, you know hahaha….

you know you spend too much time when your 5 yr old sees you on line and runs into the living room, ” daddy!! NOW MOM IS TALKING TO JOHN EDWARD ON THE COMPUTER !!!! do we get mcdonalds again??”

the mcdonalds part is her own fabrication

    ( really!!)

I personally know I am spending too much time when I get up early for work so I can check in before I go to work. Then when I stop over at my friends I check in on their computer and then go home to see if anything new is on mine lol. I want to put in on the favorites there but since he doesn’t like this stuff (hes a former baptist minister) I don’t push it. I do have his wife tape the show for me when she can he he he.

    This thread is too funny!

When I’m teaching and I put my head down, rub my hands together, point without looking and insist that what I’m saying is absolutely right and that they need to write it down and check it when they get home! Also, when I just stop mid-sentence, cock my head, stand quietly and listen to what appears to them to be nothing! I also start talking without taking a breath!!!!!
