Cece: I did it! Here is my post from the other forum re: songs related to ADC, etc.
Pam this is an awesome thread, I am copying lyrics right and left. So many are so meaningful … but a one song that always gives me chills is by Dion — “Abraham, Martin & John”

A more recent song that I actually heard first on a John Edward show was the song the Nelson’s sang after their session with JE. It is called “Just Once More” here is their website link where you can listen to it. http://thenelsonbrothers.com/indexa.html

I recommend you have the tissues handy before you go to this site and song. Here are the lyrics:

    Just Once More
    (Victoria Shaw/ Steven McClintock/ G and M Nelson)

I’ve got a million pictures in my heart and here at home
But I’m afraid that they’ll just fade with time
    Photographs are cold
And a memory’s hard to hold
I never got a chance to say goodbye

Just one more day- One more night
One more chance to make it right
A few more words- A few more laughs
doesn’t seem too much to ask
And I know its just a dream
    but I’d give up everything
If you’d walk through that door just once more

Sometimes I catch myself asking you out loud,
“What would you do if you were in my place?”
‘Cause every day in every way I try and make you proud
But I wish that I could tell you face to face

Just one more day- One more night
One more chance to make it right
A few more words- A few more laughs
doesn’t seem too much to ask
And I know its just a dream
    but I’d give up everything
If you’d walk through that door just once more

    Seasons come and seasons go
But love lives on- you taught me so
    I’ve been blessed I don’t think twice
    But wouldn’t it be nice…

Just one more day- One more night
One more chance to make it right
A few more words- A few more laughs
doesn’t seem too much to ask
And I know its just a dream
    but I’d give up everything
If you’d walk through that door just once more

I just wanted to let all of you know, that after reading all of those beautiful lyrics to the songs you all recommended…I was sitting here crying! :)

The words to all the songs were very touching!! Even though I was crying…I enjoyed reading the posts!!

My # 1 tear-jerker song is “My Heart Will Go On”…by Celine Dion.

Pooh, that is a great LAD/ADC song, and the reading with the Nelson family was great, as well. Thanks for posting those beautiful words. :)

    You’ll Be In My Heart
by Phil Collins~from the Disney Tarzan Soundtrack

Come stop your crying, It will be alright
Just take my hand, Hold it tight

I will protect you from, All around you
I will be here Don’t you cry

For one so small, You seem so strong
My arms will hold you, Keep you safe and warm
This bond between us, can’t be broken,
I will be here, don’t you cry

Cause you’ll be in my heart, Yes you’ll be in my heart
From this day on Now and forever more

You’ll be in my heart No matter what they say,
You’ll be here in my heart Always

Why can’t they understand the way we feel
They just don’t trust, what they can’t explain
I know we’re different but deep inside us
We’re not that different at all

And you’ll be in my heart, Yes you’ll be in my heart
From this day on Now and forever more

Don’t listen to them, Cos do they know?
We need each other, To have to hold
They’ll see in time, I know

When destiny calls you, You must be strong
I may not be with you, But you got to hold on
They’ll see in time, I know
    We’ll show them together

Cos’ you’ll be in my heart, Believe me you’ll be in my heart
I’ll be there from this day on Now and forever more

Oh you’ll be in my heart you’ll be here in my heart
No matter what they say, I’ll be with you here in my heart

    I’ll be there, Always
    Always, I’ll be with you
I’ll be there for you always
    Always and always

    Just look over your shoulder
    Just look over your shoulder
    Just look over your shoulder
    I’ll be there for you….

Guess it wasn’t meant to be….
I had this whole justification as to why Sarah McLachlan’s song Angel was my favorite. I spent too much time writing it and WHAM I was disconnected and eveything I had written was gone. I wish I could blame my ISP, but I can’t. I have it set to disconnect after 15 minutes of inactivity.
I wish I had the lyrics to this song, but I only have a few.

“spend all your time waiting for that second chance. For a break that would make it okay. there’s always some reason to feel not good enough. and its hard at the end of the day I need some distraction. Oh beautiful Memories seep through my veins……

    “Find some peace tonight”
“In the arms of an angel may you find some comfort here”.. I do know that someone here does know the lyrics. (PAM)

I will tell you about Doug some other day I guess. he deserves to be heard.
Love you all and thank you for being there.

I love this thread, I’ve been so impressed by the different lyrics I’ve seen in people’s signatures here, too. {Best surfer voice: Wow, dude, You guys are deep} :D My favorite song that goes through my head is In My Life by the Beatles, oh, and I Feel Good!… The way that I should, baby… I feeeeel good! You knew that I would yeah…

And then, there’s a very special song I play on piano when I want to say hello to my grandpa. I sang it when I was at his funeral as my grandma and I walked across the grass. It goes back to WWII.

    We’ll Meet Again
by Ross Parker and Charles Hughes

    1.
Let’s say goodbye with a smile, dear,
Just for a while, dear, We must part.
Don’t let the parting up set you,
    I’ll not forget you, Sweethart.

    2.
After the rain comes the rainbow,
You’ll see the rain go, Never fear.
We two can wait for tomorrow,
    Goodbye to sorrow, My dear.

    Chorus:
    We’ll meet again,
    Don’t know where,
    Don’t know when,
But I know we’ll meet again some sunny day.
    Keep smilin’ through
    just like you always do,
Till the blue skies drive the dark clouds far away.

So will you please say hello
to the folks that I know?
Tell them I won’t be long.
    They’ll be happy to know
that as you saw me go,
    I was singing this song,

    We’ll meet again,
    Don’t know where,
    Don’t know when,
But I know we’ll meet again some sunny day.

Okay, a whole bunch of songs came to mind but here’s one that I just have to share. It was written by an Irish song writer, Phil Coulter, for the Furey Brothers about their Dad. The first time I heard it my Dad was still here; but my grandfather, who I was very close to, had passed. A friend of ours, Vince (my Dad’s best friend), who’s an entertainer, was singing it and my Mom and I were balling our eyes out. It was just so much my grandfather. After my Dad passed, the first time we went to hear Vince play, he started talking about my father and dedicated the song to him. I can’t even tell you what that was like. He kind of apologized to us afterward and said that he just had to do it. We understood. My Dad used to play with Vince, and this was the first time Vince was performing without him. When he sang the line, “But he’ll still be heard in the songs we shared, when I play them on my own.” I thought I was going to die. Anyway, sorry I gave such a long introduction. Here’s the lyrics. I know you can’t fully appreciate them without knowing the melody.

    The Old Man

The tears have all been shed now.
    We’ve said our last goodbyes.
    His soul’s been blessed,
    He’s laid to rest.
And it’s now I feel alone.

    He was more
    Than just my father
    My teacher, my best friend.
    But he’ll still be heard
    In the songs we shared,
    When I play them
    On my own.

And I never will forget him,
For he made me what I am.
    Though he may be gone,
    Memories linger on.
    And I miss him.
    The old man.

    As a child,
    He’d take me walking
    By mountain, field, and stream
    And he’d show me things
    Not known to kings-
A secret between him and me.

Like the colors on a pheasant
As he rises in the dawn,
    Or how to fish,
    Or make a wish
    Beside a fairy tree.

    I thought he’d live forever.
He seemed so big and strong.
    But the minutes fly
    And the years roll by
For a father and his son.

    And suddenly when it happened,
There was so much left unsaid.
No second chance to tell him thanks
    For everything he’d done.

And I never will forget him,
For he made me who I am.
    Though he may be gone,
    Memories linger on.
    God, I miss him.
    My old man.

No worries – This song was originally posted by Ceceoh on 7/22 at the Delphi board; Thread “What’s your favorite LAD/ADC song”
    message #966.22:

    Angel – Sarah McLaughlin

Spend all your time waiting for that second chance
For the break that will make it OK
There’s always some reason to feel not good enough
And it’s hard at the end of the day
I need some distraction or a beautiful release
    Memories seep from my veins
Let me be empty and weightless and maybe
    I’ll find some peace tonight
In the arms of the Angel far away from here
From this dark, cold hotel room, and the endlessness that you feel
You are pulled from the wreckage of your silent reverie
You’re in the arms of the Angel; may you find some comfort here

So tired of the straight line, and everywhere you turn
There’s vultures and thieves at your back
The storm keeps on twisting, you keep on building the lies
That make up for all that you lack
It don’t make no difference, escape one last time
    It’s easier to believe
In this sweet madness, oh this glorious sadness
That brings me to my knees

In the arms of the Angel far away from here
From this dark, cold hotel room, and the endlessness that you feel
You are pulled from the wreckage of your silent reverie
You’re in the arms of the Angel; may you find some comfort here

In the arms of the Angel; may you find some comfort here

    :)

    Thanks
I knew someone would come through for me.
And I thought Pam posted it on the other board.
    Thanks for the clarification.
I may even have to dissect the song now that you found the lyrics for me.
    thanks again

I will be anxiously waiting for your “dissection” of the song!

That dissection will have to wait for a few days. We are off to NC for the weekend. Tell everyone I said hi if you make it to the chat on Sunday. I will be on my way home from NC by then. Probably sailing through NY when you all start talking. If you are still at it around 2 A.M. maybe I will show my face. LOL
thanks again for the lyrics. I knew you guys wouldn’t fail me.
