Soul Imprinting for People On This Side

I'm not sure where this is supposed to go, so I picked this folder. To the moderators: Feel free to move this where it is supposed to be. Just let me know so I can find it.

I'm going to ask a kinda out-there question. Have you ever had someone so on your mind, that every where you look, you see a part of that person? Kinda what JE talked about Soul-Imprinting. Only for a person who as far as I know is very much still on This Side.

For the past two to three nights I've been having dreams about this friend. I've been watching tv, and a guy's mannerisms reminded me of my friend. Heck, even watching another tv show, the guy looked just like my friend.

I wrote down in my journal all about this friend, hoping that it would let my mind release what I've been feeling, but no. I should define this "friend". He was an instructor of mine in college. He cared very much for all his students, and just was a loving energy to be around. We, as his students would do anything for him, and I believe he in return did alot for us. When I say we as his students, he had to of had over 300 in any given year. Add the alumni on top of that, you have a very beloved man. As you may of guessed, he left our university after being there 25 years and establishing a Legend. He sort of disappeared for a long a time, to resurface in the shadows at another school. Though, since we all found out, we haven't been able to reach him.

So back to my original question: Is this just my mind trying to deal with the fact that I might never see him again? Then why is it trying to fit his image into everything I see? Sure, I miss him, but people come into and out of our lives everyday. I've learned to deal with this...except for this past week.

Any ideas would help me out.

I've not run into this. Does John talk about "soul imprinting" in one of his books?

He talked about it on CO a bunch of times. It's when someone who has crossed over will imprint themselves on another person, and it'll make you go omg! she looks like my grandma and so on. John said there was a woman in the audience who looked exactly like his grandmother, and if he stared at her funny that was why.

Like I explained above, I had this experience though with someone living. In many ways, I still happen to see him. Though, it's not as pronounced as it was the other day.

Hmmm...

That does pose an interesting question... for me this has happened only a few times with others that are living.

For example I was at the grocery store the other day and I swore that this one couple standing at the check out line were my friends, but upon closer investigation it wasn't them.

So I went about my merry way and continued shopping.

Five minutes later, I heard "MEGS!" shouted from behind me and I very nearly jumped out of my skin as I turned and saw the very same couple I only thought I had saw in the check out line a few minutes earlier.

Perhaps this sort of soul imprinting is a way of our own radar's picking up on their energy of a heads up, look who might be around the corner. Perhaps he's returned to the area?

As to the dreams of your professor, perhaps your guides are using him as a tool, the same way that sometimes John is used as a teaching tool in our dreams as a teacher. That was a suggestion John shared at the SF seminar in November, when woman asked about dreams she was having that involved John.

In my experience, there have been few adults that I would seriously listen to and so my guides had to be extra creative in finding the right figure to present an idea to me in a dream otherwise I might not listen. (I'm still working to over come my own thick headedness)

Perhaps that is why your professor is appearing to you in various forms? Perhaps there is a deeper meaning to the dreams of what is the goal he is leading you to, or lesson in the dream he's sharing.

At least that's me two and half cents on the matter

Thanks Megan because what you said makes sense. I guess my guides know how to get my attention. Because he's one of the only people that I would truly listen to. I respected him that much. I'm going to have to look at the dream I had about him even closer, because on the surface it looks to be like every other dream I've had. (Though, if you know me, you know I don't have ordinary dreams. )
